Ever since I was a little girl I used to watch 'The Young and the Restless' and 'The Bold and the Beautiful' with my mom. She would tape them (back when people actually had VCRs) and every night we would sit down and watch. I continued watching religiously throughout college and just recently stopped. But if anyone can appreciate love for a favorite soap opera, it's me.
Since the Daytime Emmy Awards were this week, I wanted to see which soap operas people are searching on AOL Search. 'Passions' is the leader on the list followed by 'General Hospital' and 'Days of Our Lives.'
Even though none of my favorite soaps made it into the top three, I am still a loyal fan of the 'Young' and the 'Bold.'

I'm surprised that B&B wasn't rated higher up on the search list. It along with Y&R are consistently highest rated on the Nielsons list. Also, B&B is the only American soap which has a subtrack simultantously broadcasting in Spanish so it also has a very high international audience. I can understand that As the World Turns might not be as popular as it used to be but it was also the soap that was interrupted with the terrible news of JFK's assassination. The soap channel mentioned (SoapNet) has a cavalier attitude by angering loyal viewers with their actions of removing reruns of soaps from the past e.g. Another World, also Dynasty or phasing them out e.g. Melrose Place (although the latter two were nighttime dramas they were still soaps in the sense of the word).

I AGREE THAT ANOTHER WORLD IS THE BEST AND I ALSO DON'T WATCH SOAPNET BECAUSE THEY CANCELLED IT. SANTA BARBARA WAS ALSO THE BEST ON THE AIR AT THAT TIME.LIKE EVERY THING ELSE,THEY WERE TOO GOOD TO LAST

THe the one that said she use to watch young and the restless when vcr's were used, dang you cant be that old little one . becouse dvd's havent been around that long.and neither has bold and the beautiful....lol too funny. does your diaper need changing??

Never miss the daytime Emmys but am tired of seeing everyone else win something and Days and Passions are always left out. WHY? Some of the acting on both of them has been very good and well worth a nod or two! have watched both for as long as they have been on NBC. Anyone else feel the same as I do , its as if it is a deliberate snub when they are not even mentioned!!

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF ABC SOAPS. MY MOM WATCHED THEM WHEN I WAS GROWING UP AND I ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO WATCHING THE END OF GH WHEN I GOT HOME FROM SCHOOL. I ALSO LIKE DAYS OF OUR LIVES. I WOULD WATCH IT WHEN ONE OF MY ABC SOAPS WAS PRE-EMPTED. I THANK SOAPNET FOR SHOWING THESE AT NIGHT TIME. I WISH THEY HAD NOT SWITCHED DAYS TO 7PM. SOMETIMES IT IS HARD TO GET HOME IN TIME TO WATCH. I TAPE WHEN I CAN.CONGRATS TO ALL THE WINNERS. I WAS UNABLE TO WATCH BUT KNOW RIC HEARST WON FOR BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR. ABC AND DAYS KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I HAVE WATCH Y & R EVERY SINCE IN AIR IN 1973 OR THERE ABOUTS. THE PAST SIX MONTHS, HAS BEEN RIDICULOS. I DON'T SHOW MORE OF THE YOUNG STARS, BUT, ALL THIS CAINE AND AMBER SLEAY SEX SCENES ARE NOTHING BUT TRASH. SINCE MR BELL PASSED, YOU CAN TELL THE WRITERS IS NOT EQUIPED TO WRITE A SCENE WHERE THERE IS NO PORNOGRAPHY. THE STAY HOME LADIES DO NOT ALWAYS WANT TO SEE A SEXY SCENE, LET THEM USE THEIR IMAGINATIONS. IT IS MUCH MORE FUN THAT WAY. NO OPEN MOUTH KISSING, NO TEDDIES SHOWING, OR NUDIETY. THIS MAY BE A GOODBYE IF THE SCENES OR NOT CENSORED. MIDDLE AMERICA HAS MORE MORALS THAN SOME OF THE ACTORS OR ACTRESS THAT LIVE LIKE THEY SHOW ON SOAPOPERA. THANKS FOR LISTEN

I grew up watching GH, it was my fave when I was 3 and Frisco and Felicia were there, and it is my fave now. I love the characters, well at least most of them. My 3 year old daughter comes runnig when she hears the music for the show and she is yelling for Jason. lol. My only gripe with the show is that they don't use the older characters enough. I love it when I see Edward or Ned, and I HATE that Alan is now a freaking ghost. But in all I watch The Young & The Restless, All My Children, One Life To Live, and General Hospital. Hey, it may be alot, but I am a pregnant house wife who has nothing else to do. lol.

I am very loyal (still) to Luke and Laura.
GH is the only soap I watch. Previously watched AMC, but their writing is so bad it insults anyones intelligence.
Only watch GH now and still love it!

Y&R is my favorite soap of all time..I have watched it for years.my mom watched it when it first aired back 1973. i started watching it at an early age.i loved it. my mom loves it also. we never miss it, if we do, i will record it and we will watch it together. B&B i also love. the young and restless is the best as is B&B. thank u all so much for making my days better..

My favorite soaps are AMC,OL,GH and Days. I used to watch Y&R years ago when it first came on and I loved the show. The past 10 years I stopped watching, it became very boring. Soap Net at night is great but I hate the fact that they took off Days and put YR on. Please put Days back on and Soap Talk TOO.

Ive been watching ABC soaps now for 33 years when i was a young new bride and to me there are no others that compare .. this year especially General Hospital and One life to live with their story lines ..I especially like the Elizabeth and Janson thing going on.. hope she dumps Lucky and goes to Jason who its plain to see she really is in love with..What chemistry!!!Yup ABC is number one with me..and alot others too.. keep up the good work..

I have to say that for the last 30 years I.ve been watching All My Children - One Life To Live and General Hospital. I've loved the characters all this time and to me they're all number one in my book. Thank you so much for all the great stories especially Viki and Niki & Jess and Tess of O.l.T.l,and of course Erica of A.M.C. Viki and Erica are my 2 favorites.
