I recently pulled rankings for top searched health concerns and wow, was I surprised to see what people searched for!Health concerns are certainly no laughing matter. However, I thought it'd be interesting to show the top searched health topics that people generally don't talk about. Check it out for yourself and you'll see what I mean.
If you happen to have any of the health concerns listed below, you probably talk to your close friends and your doctor (I really hope you do talk to your doctor!) about them. However, it's extremely rare that they make it in your casual conversations. Can you imagine strolling into the office one morning and when your cube neighbor asks a polite "How are you?" you respond with, "Fine, thanks. Except for the [fill in your health concern here] that I just got diagnosed with!" Can we say awkward?
Anyway, if you're diagnosed with any of the health concerns below, or if you're just curious to see what they're all about, the Internet is a great thing. Hello, privacy! Go to AOL Body or search for these topics on AOL Search, such as depression symptoms, STD testing and hair restoration.
AOL's top searched health concerns that you don't talk about from this week:
1. Depression
2. HPV
3. Yeast infection
4. Genital warts
5. Genital herpes
6. Urinary tract infection
7. AIDS
8. Constipation
9. Erectile dysfunction
10. Hair loss

103. I was glad to see depression on the top of the list. So many people have it and are to ashamed to admit it, let alone go see their doctors about it. And alot of people have it and don't even realize thats whats affecting them. I hope some people read these blogs and go to their docs and get the help and treatment they need. And lastly, blogger # 9 NICK, I have FIBROMYALGIA, if you'd like to talk about it sometime, give me a holler, or anyone else with it. I would like to get all the info on it I can. kbeckyrg@aol.com. Best of health to you all. Becky

106. One night when I was 55, I was doubled over in pain, vomiting, even water. My husband took me to emergency and it was time for the gall bladder to go. That was the start, about 1 day later I had the Asian flu, then I got shingles on top of my stitches from the surgery. I went to a gut doctor and it was Crohns, IBS, so many ulcer scars, my linning looked like Swiss Cheese. Then it was carpel tunnel. I fell and I have 3 pinched nerves in my butt, and I pulled every muscle in my neck. I have been depressed from the time I was 18 years old. Good days were not bad, but bad days were psychotic. I got Social Security on my own the first time. No I am 59 and all that has happened in 4 years. I have a wonderful neurogolist that has got my blood pressure, sugar, & cholosterol under control. I take 27 different pills 2 or 3 times a day. But I'm ok. My doctor put me on Effexor twice a day, and Lexapro once. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. I also have fibromyalgia. What the 2 of those medications did for me, was nothing short of a miracle. Keep up the great work. And sorry for rewriting War and Peace.

107. 5. It's a shame also that this article places depression above all the sexual and eliminatory disorders.A skewed view.

To carol: Shameful? Skewed?! Depression was at the top of the list simply because it's the most-searched-about illness! People are seeking information to help themselves and their loved ones. I'd call that responsible, intelligent and caring.

109. oh wow, I would agree that depression would be one of the biggest ones. But people shouldn't be like ashamed if the have a sexual disease. I would rather go to the doctor then live with it secretly, even when it can be deadly....
