Lately, it has been taking me twice as long to shop online. I'm not new to online shopping -- I buy about 80 percent of my clothes, accessories and household items online for years now. What's taking up my time when shopping online is my stubbornness to find the best deals. Before I finalize my purchase online, I always compare prices on different sites and search for coupons with the highest discounts. Call me a cheapskate, but I have saved hundreds of dollars or maybe even thousands ... I really should start keeping track of my savings!
The reason that I've been able to find the best deals online is I'm not loyal to any one site. I visit multiple price comparison sites and I actively search for online coupon codes. I generally search for a specific retailer's coupons, such as J. Crew coupons, and then browse various sites to find the highest discounts. Sometimes it's frustrating when the coupon code has expired or if it only works if you have the retailer's credit card, but to me it's worth it.
There are sites that give success rates and display comments from consumers. It still doesn't save me any time, however, since I try every single coupon code. Even when there's a disclaimer that "coupon cannot be combined with other offers," I still try all of the coupon codes. Hey, you just never know. When I first saw the top searched coupons on AOL that are listed below, I didn't even think about grocery coupons before. Probably because I never follow my grocery list at the store and I'm loyal to certain brands when it comes to food. I'll give it a try, though. I'd rather spend my money on designer jeans than food, for sure!
So are you a proud cheapskate, too? Do you always have to find the best deals online before buying anything?

9. These days with the high gas prices, paying for shipping may not really be adding to the cost of purchasing an item. Consider how far you need to drive to get the desired item. Sometimes with a good search you can find a better price than what is available locally. As for sending the item back, you could always sell it on Ebay. Then you can charge the buyer for shipping, instead of paying to send it back.

10. For online purchasing, the best deal I've found yet is thru www.ebates.com. You can sign up for free, and then select the retailer of your choice. Each one gives you different rebate percentages thru ebates. Ebates then issues you a check quarterly. When you select retailer you will be directed to their site and can you coupon's in additional to what you are earning thru ebates. If you pay by credit card, you may also earn mileage or rebates thru your credit card company. So the percentages do add up. And if you refer your friends to the site you earn $5 from ebates.

11. Personally, I have saved up to 80% before on items purchased through EBay and other discount online sites. You obviously don't buy everything online, but who cares if you save a good deal of money on some items online, BUY THEM! As for shipping, you need to shop around and find the deals on shipping. For instance, long life light bulbs, 3 to 4 dollars each at my local DISCOUNT store. $1.65 each AFTER SHIPPING if purchased by the dozen on line. Very often, I can beat local deals, depending on the item. I don't buy many clothes on line. I haven't found any sources that match my local stores. Good luck and happy shopping!
