Diet can be a negative word. If you ask an average woman how many diets she's been on, I'm guessing she'll say at least three. Many probably say that diets just don't work or that they only worked for a short period of time.I myself have been on, hmmm ... maybe at least two diets that I can think of. One when I was in high school and I lost so much weight in two weeks that it scared me, so I stopped (OK, that wasn't a diet, that was starving myself by eating carrots for lunch and dinner). And the other one was about two years ago. I haven't been on a diet since then, although the way I've been downing ice cream sundaes lately, I think I'll need to!
The last one that I did was the South Beach Diet and I'm pleased to say that it worked for me. I lost 15 pounds in 2 months. Woohoo! Plus my grocery bill was lower since I stopped buying cookies and desserts. I thought Phase I was the easiest phase, contrary to what others may say. It was easier for me because I knew exactly what I could and could not eat. I did get sick of having boiled eggs and skim milk everyday for breakfast, though, instead of my usual cereal with skim milk and orange juice.
When Phase II came around, I thought I was about to fail my new regime. I found that it was hard to control the portion of carbs and sugar that I could introduce back into my diet. Somehow I stuck with it -- I think logging in my information on the South Beach Diet Web site really helped me since I can track my food intake and my progress. Also, I did have a cheat day once a week where I allowed myself to eat anything as much as I want, so I didn't feel as deprived.
So now, I'm thinking about going back on the South Beach Diet. Although I just heard about the 3-hour diet, where you eat every three hours, and the cookie diet ... no joke! With the cookie diet, you eat one dinner and six hunger-suppressing cookies a day. That one is definitely interesting, but I don't think that will work for me since I need variety in my food.
I decided to use summer as an excuse to not go on a diet. What 's a girl to do when it's 95 degrees outside and you just need to have an ice cream cone? So maybe in the fall, I'll revisit this whole dieting thing again. Until then, you can share some dieting tips with me. Which diet plan has worked for you?

41. charts say i'm not overweight, but i've inherited my mom's tummy. in highschool, weighing 96-lbs., i had a tummy, and now that i weigh 123 lbs., i have a wee bit bigger tummy. also inherited mom's large breasts, i'm 5 ft. tall, petite, 'cept i have that darn tummy. i have horses, cats, and dogs, a total of 25 animials so i don't sit around and gather dust. i now have a pinched sciatic nerve in my back due to a truck accident 10 years ago so can't do as much heavy farm labor as i once did. husband has to do it all and i miss it, hard but fun. i've lost the muscles that i once had so now it seems that i can only feel soft flesh under hangy skin but that tummy is still the same. i drink diet soda, eat low fat frozen yogurt ice-cream, eat lots of lettuce/veggies, and it takes me two days to eat a steak or hamburger. never eat chips, fries, pasta but love cookies so i usually have two or a pack of crackers/cheese as my breakfast/lunch every day. i bought several boxes of special k breakfast cereal and have been on the diet that's on the box for three days now. i eat the cereal dry, don't bother with the milk, and just sip "pepsi one" as i munch on it. thus far today, i ate a few handful's of special k, had a 1.5 oz. box of sun-maid raisins, and a turkey sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and a wee bit of mayo. i feel that one inherit's areas on their body that no diet or exercising can change, it's just going to be there no matter what. this cereal says you can lose 6-lbs. in 2 weeks and what a thrill it would be if the 6-lbs. comes off of that tummy but i bet i put 6 more pounds on and it'll end up on my tummy. nobody has mentioned the special k diet...this is a first for me so can only guess.

42. I have recently lost 24-lbs on the ShapeWorks program by Herbalife. This program was really easy to do with some great tasting meal milkshakes that you can customize to your liking w/ different flavors and by adding your favorite fruit. In addition to the shakes, the program consists of a couple of supplemnts that make it all happen. I lost 9-lb in my first 11 days and continue to use the products due to the increased energy and health benefits they provide. I am now on the maintenance part of the program which I guess will last as long as I want it to, so I don't put the weight back on. For more information people can check www.southfloridadiet.com

45. Low fat + low calorie + low carb = low everything = stavation. Kimkins is bad! Save your money - the site won't live past the class action lawsuit.
