Still, we ignore those facts and obsess with our bodies. Take stretch marks for example. Raise your hand if you don't have one single stretch mark on your body ... yeah, I don't believe you. I'm lucky that I don't have many stretch marks -- I think slathering myself with moisturizer helps, or maybe it's genetic. Who knows? Either way, I can't complain.People go out of their way to prevent and get rid of stretch marks. The least expensive way is using stretch mark creams, although some creams cost over $100 for a 6-ounce bottle. Some also try laser treatments, dermabrasion and chemical peel. I've read that drinking a lot of water helps you develop fewer stretch marks since it makes your skin soft, therefore more elastic. It may also help if you eat foods high in zinc, like nuts and fish, and rich in vitamins A and C, like carrots and citrus. However, if stretch marks run in your family, then you'll probably still get them anyway.
I guess no one knows for sure if any of the stretch mark treatments really work, but people just love to try! Check out the top searched stretch mark creams on AOL Search below. Have you tried any of them? If so, did they work for you?

5. Luberberm (sp?), great lotion that you can buy at the store. I've never found a better lotion. I don't have stretch marks but it doesn't have the greasy feel and goes straight to your skin. Use more if you feel it to be needed. Be sure to buy the correct one as there are a few different ones to select from. Hey, it's worth a try. Eight bucks for a "large" bottle.

6. I used Palmer's Cocoa Butter every day while pregnant. I rubbed it all over my bell, hips, and thighs. I got very minor stretch marks. I got one on each hip. I don't anything will take them away, but I think Palmer's prevented them!

7. When I was a young girl maturing into womenhood, I got a lot of stretch marks on my breasts and hips. I guess just growing too fast. My mother was covered with them on her belly. It was terrible. Working out and in sports I also got them inbetween my legs. When I got pregnant at the age of 32 I thought I was truly doomed. I went out and bought a brand name stretch mark cream with cocoa butter and put it on my body from my shoulders to my ankles everyday. I never got one stretch mark after two pregnancies and all the others faded. The only time you can see them and it is hard to see is when I get very tan. It had to be the cream because it is in my family and I always was not a good eater. I have never taken vitamins either. Today, at the age of 54 you can't see any of them, never got one on my tummy. My skin is still tight today. But I must add, I didn't gain a lot of weight either.

8. Mustela has 2 great products for Stretch marks. One is Double Action Stretch Cream that prevents stretch marks and then their formula to treat any stretchmarks that were not prevented called Stretch Mark Intensive Action. It's sold in different stores in different markets. Most Babies R US stores carry it as well as Independent Pharmacies and Baby stores. Take a look at their website: www.mustelausa.com and click on maternity products tab. As well as it works, I am surprised that it isn't listed in the top 10. A lot of the celebs use it.

9. Who knows!
However, do hydrate yourself during your pregnancy with lots of water.
My favorite was Palmer's cocoa butter.
Gained 50lbs for each of my two pregnancies.
Not one stretch mark on my belly!
But who cares about stretch marks, its the beauty developing within that counts!

10. I am the same as Joanne above. I have stretch marks between my legs, my lower back,my lower tummy, and on my breast since I was a teenage because of weight loss. I have tried so many different creams but they didn't work at all. It would be a wish come true if I can find something that would work and take these horrible stretch marks away.

11. LADIES, I understand that I am not a woman so I don't know how it feels to have them, but I can say that I pay attention to your bodies. To be honest from a man's perspective they are not that bad. If I see them on some hips it makes me smile cause I know she has the body type that I like. NOW there is a difference between big WELTS and fine stretch marks. There is beauty in your bodies no matter if you were once pregnant...just don't get the wrinkled tangerine gut, add a scar, and dance on the pole and we will be FINE

12. During my pregnancy, I used a 100% cocoa butter stick. I rubbed it on my belly before I even started showing. I didnt get a single stretch mark. I think cocoa butter is the best thing to use.

13. I know this will sound weird, but I used to work for a lady who sold Emu Oil in Northern Virginia, this stuff was great for stretch marks as well as scarring.
I used it for my tattoos, and works great as a regular moisturizer...but use it very sparingly...because it is an oil....

14. I've had two kids and in my last pregnancy I gained 75lbs.! From the first known day of pregnancy and after the birth I slathered on Johnson's baby lotion from head to toe and once I got a "baby bump" I used Palmers cocoa butter - STICK. It's important you get the stick because it's pure, raw cocoa butter.

15. Stretch marks on the tummy during pregnancy are hormonal for the most part, unless you gain a massive amout of weight quickly. The hormone is stronger in some families and usually if your Mom or sister had them, you will too.

16. I know a GREAT lotion! It is from Mary Kay. It is called Visibly Fit Lotion. It is actually an anti-aging lotion for the body but some benefits that customers have experienced is reducing the appearance of stretch marks and spider veins. You do need to use it morning and night but after about 4-8 weeks you should see a difference. I love it.

19. The lotions do not work, nor have they ever! I do know many companies are sure making alot of money though.Stretch marks have to do with ones natural elasticity and yes,it is definitely inherited. You are wasting your money and thats a known fact and yes,I have them as do all of the women in my family.

20. I have used this wonderful boy cream called Dermelect Lipo Conquer Body Toning Cream. It is has Ginkgo Biloba and Caffeine and I use it around my belly area, under my arms and on my thighs. It has toned and tightened and has a mild citrus scent. Dermelect has the best stuff for cellulite.
