Still, we ignore those facts and obsess with our bodies. Take stretch marks for example. Raise your hand if you don't have one single stretch mark on your body ... yeah, I don't believe you. I'm lucky that I don't have many stretch marks -- I think slathering myself with moisturizer helps, or maybe it's genetic. Who knows? Either way, I can't complain.People go out of their way to prevent and get rid of stretch marks. The least expensive way is using stretch mark creams, although some creams cost over $100 for a 6-ounce bottle. Some also try laser treatments, dermabrasion and chemical peel. I've read that drinking a lot of water helps you develop fewer stretch marks since it makes your skin soft, therefore more elastic. It may also help if you eat foods high in zinc, like nuts and fish, and rich in vitamins A and C, like carrots and citrus. However, if stretch marks run in your family, then you'll probably still get them anyway.
I guess no one knows for sure if any of the stretch mark treatments really work, but people just love to try! Check out the top searched stretch mark creams on AOL Search below. Have you tried any of them? If so, did they work for you?

41. I got stretchmarks from puberty because as a teenager I didn't take care of my skin. As an adult and especially after the birth of my daughter, I refused to get more s.marks so I started using some of everything early on in my pregnancy. I used olive & mineral oil, mustela, coco butter, and baby oil. I didn't get one mark on my stomach. My daughter is two and I still moisturize my tummy, hips, thighs, breast. I believe that moisturizing does help prevent stretch marks even if it does run in your family.

I put it in the bath tub and stayed in it for 20 to 30 min. it makes your skin every soft . Every woman is different so just try what ever works for you . 43. I used Palmers cocoa butter during my entire pregnancy every day and I still got stretch marks all over my entire lower belly. I also used the palmers spray for itching. I gained about 30lb during my pregnancy. My daughter was 8.75lbs. I believe it is genetic and that creams may help some people but they did not help me. I still have them and even though they are fading my skin is still loose. I could live with a few and it not really bother me too much, but I am very self concious of them and the loose skin.

44. Complete fallacy. If you are going to get stretch marks, you are going to get them. Lotions, gels, prayers, massage thereapy-NOPE-just heredity and good luck. Tried most of all that-got huge ones. I was in good shape, good weight, didn't even get that big, and they came on about the 8th month-seems like in a matter of hours. Every doctor you talk with says it is heredity-type of skin you have, moisture, none of it matters-all heredity or good old fashioned luck. Not saying dont' use them-it helps the skin stay moistureized, makes it feel good, keeps your mind normal (lol) til you get them anyways; certainly doesn't hurt. But accept it ladies: it is all heredity and luck....

45. See that entry by Lisa Carbon above. That is what I was trying to warn you about. She gave us a sales pitch which is not fair in a response column like this.
She said Arbonne has a Rejuvenating Cream that works great on current Stretch Marks and scars. "Rejuvenating literally means to make young again - Claims unsubstantiated must be ignored.) It is ultra-hydrating, non-greasy moisturzer which helps skin return to a balanced, healthy state. It's infused with amino acids to help rejuvenate skin. The key ingredients are Blue copper,(Copper is not blue so there is a chemical element there that they are not telling about.) Probably copper sulfate or copper dioxide? ) cucumber extract,(What part of the cucumber is extracted? ) antioxidant vitamins A, C & E. The retail of this product is $35 retail or $22.75 wholesale. (a little goes a long way with Arbonne, because it is pure product without fillers). **Be careful ladies... remember most sales mottos include something like ... no one has gone broke UNDERESTIMATING the intelligence of the American publid...
All Arbonnes products are botanically based (plant based)**Botanically based is not a reasonable statement. IN africa there are trees that give off arsenic. Poison Ivy is a botanical as are other poisons... *** and have no animal products or aninimal by products,**Some Animal products are good.** mineral oil,**Some mineral oils are good** dyes or chemical fragrances.***GOOD** They are dermatologist tested ***One really doubts that ta dermatologist set up a blind study with over a thousand people and developed metrics to evaluate this. So many claims made that include ... doctor tested, etc. Those are almost never reasonable tests because you need a total lab and double blind arrangements & never tested on Animals! HELL, go ahead and test on anmimals! Give them overdoses etc and let us know now rather than after 8 years of accumulation if there is some latent problem we can know about NOW!
Ladies, please stick to the most elemental approaches. Ask your dotcot for a product that has been thoroughly tested and proven benign before rubbing it on your skin and letting your infant absorb it. Live long and prosper, bob
They also have a complete baby line that is nut free! The entire baby care line which includes Hair & body wash, oil, lotion, diaper rash cream & sunscreen spf 30+ is $82.00 retail/$53.30 wholesale and when purchased as a set the Rejuvenating cream comes Free for Mom!
check it out at my website www.seethedifference.myarbonne.com and see for yourself. Arbonne has a 45 day guarantee on all the products!! So what do you have to lose, but a few stretch marks. Lisa Caron, Maine

46. I have always, since my early 20's, used cocoa butter on my entire body right after every shower. Now 38 and 2 daughters later... Not a single stretch mark. I agree though, genes, but good self care early is key.....

47. PEOPLE!! PLEASE!! Ask your doctor. If you are going to get stretch marks, there is nothing you can do to prevent them. If you are one of those people that used some kind of cream or lotion during pregnancy, and you didn't get any- chances are- you wouldn't have gotten them anyway. You are blessed with good genes. Others can slather on all the "remedies" 6 times a day, and still get them. Ask me how I know, LOL. You can use creams to maybe "reduce the appearance of" but, sad to say, stretch marks are SCARS. They are caused by tearing of the dermis, and over time can diminish but not disappear completely. I just get frustrated with these companies giving false hope to women that if they rub on this cream....the stretch marks will disappear. Fade a little....PERHAPS. Like I said, elastic skin is usually genetic. Bless all you lucky gals out there who are lucky enough to have those great genes!!

52. Sometimes it is inevitable that you will get stretch marks because of heredity or other factors but I have to say that I used Palmers Cocoa Butter on my stomach every day during my first pregnancy and not one stretch mark. I also used it during my second pregnancy and only got about 5 stretch marks but that time I was pregnant with twins! So I wonder how many I would have if I hadn't use Palmers.

53. I received the Arbonne Baby Care (ABC) kit as a gift at my baby shower from a co-worker. There is NOTHING better for stretch marks OR for my little one's tender skin. The scents are very light, not "perfume-y" and a little bit does go a long way. My son turned 1 last Friday and I still have about half of the products left. My favorite baby product is the diaper cream. It does the trick and it comes off very easily. Find an Arbonne Rep. somewhere and buy, buy, buy!!!
