Still, we ignore those facts and obsess with our bodies. Take stretch marks for example. Raise your hand if you don't have one single stretch mark on your body ... yeah, I don't believe you. I'm lucky that I don't have many stretch marks -- I think slathering myself with moisturizer helps, or maybe it's genetic. Who knows? Either way, I can't complain.People go out of their way to prevent and get rid of stretch marks. The least expensive way is using stretch mark creams, although some creams cost over $100 for a 6-ounce bottle. Some also try laser treatments, dermabrasion and chemical peel. I've read that drinking a lot of water helps you develop fewer stretch marks since it makes your skin soft, therefore more elastic. It may also help if you eat foods high in zinc, like nuts and fish, and rich in vitamins A and C, like carrots and citrus. However, if stretch marks run in your family, then you'll probably still get them anyway.
I guess no one knows for sure if any of the stretch mark treatments really work, but people just love to try! Check out the top searched stretch mark creams on AOL Search below. Have you tried any of them? If so, did they work for you?

121. I used Palmer's Coco Butter for pregnant women, for both of my pregnancies. Stretch marks run in my family, my mother got them as well as my sister. I didn't get ANY where I remembered to put the lotion. I used it twice a day everyday thru my whole pregnancy and I don't have not one single stretch mark on my stomach! So I don't know if it really works but I didn't get any stretch marks and I was huge with my second kid!

122. I am an ex-College wrestler and losing weight within short amounts of time was a must at times...rapid weight-loss like this does not only leave you with stretchmarks, but it can also be dangerous. However, if done correctly one can avoid the dangers AND strecthmarks. Eat lots of carrots and use lots of lime juice with your salads as well as drink tons of water and you will see that weight go off and those strechmarks disappear. A combination of teh latter with the use of Cocoa butter can be the best combination. Not only did I have a killer body and got it in a healthy manner, I was always complimented by my girlfriends on how soft my skin was. AH yes, the benefits of being a college athlete CAN be awesome. Again, I cannot stress enough how much keeping hydrated is necessary, and keeping a healthy diet even more so.

123. I don't think anything is truely accurate, all pregnancies are different, nor does it depend on how much weight you gain during pregnancy. With my first I barely gained 25 lbs, used expensive cocoa butter and got stretch marks everywhere. They eventually somewhat faded. Then 10yrs later, with my second, I gained over 50 lbs, used Johnsons Baby Lotion and got none. Now years later, they continue to fade, barely noticeable unless I tan. (wear sunscreen because they get worse if you don't) All despite the fact that last summer I went back to my size in high school and this summer gained back 25 lbs. Good luck ladies!

124. I think that any lotion or moisturizer you use is helpful. I didn't get a lot of noticeable stretch marks during my pregnancy. I have been using a variety of moisturizing lotions and creams and have noticed that there is a noticeable difference in my skin. I wasn't the best at taking care of my skin. I get scars easily and have excema on my hands and psoriasis on my head. I finally took charge of my skin care, trying both cheap and expensive lotions and creams and have not noticed any real difference in which product I use. I have noticed a decrease in the appearance of my scars and what few stretch marks I do have. I have also started eating better and working out, so that may be helping too. Finding a lotion or cream that helps and that you like is key here. Please don't feel that it is impossible to fade your marks, but it is more difficult for some people than others. :)

129. I used to think that the stretch marks on my sides and stomache were all from child carrying as well, but when my Momnor sister recievedany of these I was convinced that the size of the baby seemed to mean alot...my 2 babies were 9lb.21+ inches long, My mom and sisiter delivered 6lb. and under. That must say something. In any event Ihave tried alot of products out there and some have helped but I think a tummy tuck is the real answer.

130. I too used the "ABIKE Line" products. I met a young lady who was selling shea butter at a festival in Orlando Florida. She told me to use unscented shea butter at least twice daily during my pregnancy. I used it and had no stretch marks after my daughter was born.

131. Linda, The ABIKE Line shea butter products I use also come from Ghana. However, when you purchase it from street vendors or straight from the nut, it gets dirty from transport. ABIKE shea butter is cleaned and filtered for your safety. Who wants dirty product on their skin. They also make scented shea butter like coconut & mango, lemongrass & sage, peach and vanilla, etc. The products are wonderful. Check out their website www.theabikeline.com

134. Its been 17 years since I had my twin daughters and I used palmers coca butter stretch mark cream during and a year after my pregnancy and the only stretch marks I ended up with is where the incision is from my c-section. I am now 5 months pregnant again and still using the same cream.

135. Angie is correct, EMU OIL is fantastic on the skin for various problems. If you use it for stretch marks, get it 100% pure or blended with herbs/essential oils that are specific for such a condition. A great website to check out is www.ancientsciencedistributors.com for a range of products for this and alot more.

136. THE BEST is a creme for Stretch Marks from AVON. I had a child 23yrs ago and had stretch marks all over my stomach. During my pregnancy I rubbed mineral oil on my stomach, and thighs. I still ended up with stretch marks. After 21 years I found the creme from AVON used it about 4 to 5 nights a week for approx. 3 weeks and the marks were gone or diminished to the point I can wear a two piece swim suit and "Think" I'm looking good! It's worth buying a tube from AVON for about $13.00-$15.00.
Use it for a couple of weeks and you will see a big difference.

138. I use 100% pure aloe vera gel for all surgery scars.Even the ones that look like red whelts. And it dissolves them. Cheap too (about $2.00) at Wal Mart. No dyes scents or additives. Called 'Fruit of the Earth'. No animal testing. Made in Irving Texas U.S.A. What more could you want? It works.

140. When I was pregnant with my first son, I used moisturizer the whole time and didn't get any stretch marks. Then with the second one, I got lazy and stopped using it in my last trimester. Then I got ugly stretch marks all over my belly! I used Palmer's Tummy Butter which I purchased in Motherhood Maternity. I was skeptical, but kept using it religiously. Would you believe they got rid of ALL of them!!! And it only took a few months!!!
