You've seen their commercials with the slogan "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." Is that really true? I don't know because I've never been to Las Vegas. What's wrong with me? I always manage to avoid going there for some reason. Whenever I go on a vacation, I usually end up at a Caribbean beach.I decided to put Las Vegas as one of the places I'd like to visit and started a list of things to do while I'm there. I love Cirque du Soleil, so going to see one of their shows is a must. Of course there are David Copperfield and Celine Dion shows. I'm not into Celine Dion's music, but as an avid 'So You Think You Can Dance' viewer, I'll put her show in my list of performances to go to so I can see Mia Michaels' choreographed dance. Of course, there are always shopping and the casinos.
While doing my research on traveling to Las Vegas, I pulled top searches for Las Vegas to see if there's anything I should add to my list of to-dos while I'm there. I think I'll skip No. 9, thank you. Is there anything else that should've made the list?

21. Gotta love the food. From 4 star chefs to the endless buffets Vegas has something for everyone's taste.
The Rio has a great free show and the most impossibly fresh seafood I have eaten out of sight of the ocean.
Casinos on Fremont St. still has the 99cent shrimp cocktail.

22. Make sure you stop by the Harrah's Carinval Bar on a Fri. or Sat. night about 10pm to see Cook E. Jarr. He puts on a good show and it's free.

23. Vegas is for the slightly less intelligent, easily amused simple people who don't understand what a real vacation is. To them fine dining is a $2 shrimp cocktail, incredible architecture is a casino and the demonic underworld of selling sex is sorta neat don't you know. What a pathetic excuse for a city.

26. If you live a quiet life most of the year there is no better place to beeak out and vacation than in Las Vegas. You will meet people from all over the U.S and the rest of the world, experience new sights - new sounds - great food - and all quite affordable.

27. My wife and I have gone to Vegas for 4 years now. We are going back in about 3 weeks. I love the atmosphere of this city. Yes the slots do call us, but a side trip to Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon is a must. A good time to go is Late September through March. Less crowded.

28. Ive been going to Vegas for 20 years. At first, it was a great place to gamble with inexpensive rooms and good food at reasonable prices. Now, it is expensive to stay, an omelet is $30 and the casinos are very tight with comp. The shows are good, but those prices have also doubled. I will not be back.

29. Like Kat says (post #3), Vegas is a shock at first and takes some getting used to. But if you follow Tyler's advice (post #2), stop into the Mermaid while you are there on Fremont and have a fried Twinkie. Oh my GOD! But avoid the free liquor, it tastes like dry cleaning fluid.

30. My husband and I went and saw Bite at the Stratosphere it was really good. Although it is topless but really good. We also went to the dinner theater at the Excalibur that was a lot of fun. My favorite thing to do was walk through the different casinos and go shopping. Also if you are into animals then go to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay that was really interesting.

31. It amazes me when people bash Vegas. I live here and love it. There is Red Rock Canyon and Mt. Charleston for hiking, Lake Mead for boating - all within a 45 minute drive. My don't miss list:
1. Danny Gans
2. Aqua Sulius Spa at the JW Marriott on Rampart
3. Cravings for Buffet
4. Lucilles for BBQ
5. Khourys to purchase some great wines.

32. My wife and I spent part of our Honeymoon in Vegas 34 years ago, and we visit every year, several times per year. The hotels, casinos, resturants, shopping shows, attractions, etc. are terrific. We have Players Cards from several casinos, and every year we're able to stay in the hotels FREE, plus with our other comps receive free meals. The atmosphere is exciting 24/7

34. I've been to Vegas once. I really enjoyed my time there. I took advantage of the free shows that some of the hotels have. I really had fun there. I can't wait to get another opportunity to visit. Next time I plan to stay longer.

35. Vegas is what you make it. For those looking for the "skanky" and the filthy, the sordid underbelly is there, just as it is in any big city in the world. For those who enjoy relaxation, luxury, and entertainment on the clean but material side, Vegas has that too. I used to go to Vegas every three months,I try to see every Cirque show (with the exception of the one about sex, that is a choice)and the marvelous lounge acts. I choose my comedy shows to avoid the dirty/potty mouthed, and I totally eschew nudity (breasts don't interest me and unfortunately the male pulcritude was homosexual definitely not interested in the admiration or oogling of women). The food is endless if you practice moderation and choose quality over quantity you'll feel just fine. As for alcohol, some people will over indulge but drunks can be found every where. What you are as a person does not change in Vegas, you simply have more choices to make.

37. If you've never been to Las Vegas YOU MUST GO! I just returned from Vegas and had the time of my life. The shows are fantastic - I saw 'Bite', 'Fantasy' and 'American Superstars' not to mention all the free street shows! You have to visit every hotel - my favorite was New York New York, even rode the roller coaster on the top! If you want to go somewhere to not have a care in the world -go! Be sure to ride the "Deuce" - oh, and play a table or two!

38. I've lived in Vegas of 37 years now. It was a better place when the Mob ran this city and the population was 40,000. Now traffic sucks, too much growth, and not enough water.

39. Don't go to Vegas between Thanksgiving and Christmas because most of the shows are in hiatus. There is only one Cirque de Soleil, but the spas are still there.

40. We have been going to Las Vegas for over 30 years,
two or three times per year, got married there and saw the King live at the Hilton. We have stayed at just about every Hotel in town, done it all. Would
recommend the Wynn, for luxury and their pools and dining. Its a must see walk through if your budget, does not permit it. Also, for budget minded travelers, the new Southpoint Hotel. Its on the southern strip, down from MandelayBay and the shopping center. Execellent value for price there also. For families, must see "the M&M shop" on the strip, take the tour with your kids, your enjoy it. Also for half price tickets to shows, stop next door at the CocaCola place, great value for shows. For families with children, Circus Circus, behind the Hotel, excellent rides and adventures. For mature crowd visit Liberace Museum. Best view of the strip at night, go to the Voodoo Lounge top floor of the Rio Hotel. Feel free to contact us for anything you have a question on.
