You've seen their commercials with the slogan "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." Is that really true? I don't know because I've never been to Las Vegas. What's wrong with me? I always manage to avoid going there for some reason. Whenever I go on a vacation, I usually end up at a Caribbean beach.I decided to put Las Vegas as one of the places I'd like to visit and started a list of things to do while I'm there. I love Cirque du Soleil, so going to see one of their shows is a must. Of course there are David Copperfield and Celine Dion shows. I'm not into Celine Dion's music, but as an avid 'So You Think You Can Dance' viewer, I'll put her show in my list of performances to go to so I can see Mia Michaels' choreographed dance. Of course, there are always shopping and the casinos.
While doing my research on traveling to Las Vegas, I pulled top searches for Las Vegas to see if there's anything I should add to my list of to-dos while I'm there. I think I'll skip No. 9, thank you. Is there anything else that should've made the list?

41. THE MAIN STRIP IS NICE. BUT THERE IS ALOT OF XXX TRASH ON THE GROUND AND PEOPLE TRYING TO HAND THEM TO YOU. WHEN IT COMES TO PLAYING AT THE CASINOS, I WON MORE MONEY DOWN IN THE OLD LAS VEGAS. THEN I DID ON THE MAIN STRIP. THE BUFFET ARE GREAT. IF YOU LIKE PRIME RIB, LOOK AROUND FRIST. EACH CASINOS HAVE DIFFENCE PRICES. CIRUS CIRUS IS A GOOD AND CHEAP ENTERTAINMENT PLACE FOR CHILDEN.BUT WATCH OUT FOR YOUR FREE SHOWS. THERE A CATCH TO IT. IT CALL TIME SHARE. YOU GO WITH THESES PEOPLE TO LOOK AT A LAND DEVELOPMENT FOR 2-3 HOURS OF YOUR TIME. THEY TRY TO GET YOU TO INVEST IN IT. AFTER THAT, THEY GIVE YOU YOUR FREE SHOW PASS. SO HAVE FUN IN LAS VEGAS.

47. I'm a resident of the Las Vegas area, more specifically North Las Vegas. If youve never heard of it, GREAT! North Las Vegas is its own city with a mayor and a police force, parks and libraries. Our unofficial slogan is, "What happens there, can STAY there". For people who want to hit the casinos and support billionaires I'm glad they have a place to go, but you'll rarely find me there. I'm in the desert exploring the beautiful and varied geology this area offers. The best time to explore the desert is April, when the flora is covered in flowers. Did you know that most of Nevada was a tropical lake? Don't waste your well earned vacation on booze and poker. Get out there and see what our beautiful state has to offer!!

48. I have been to Vegas about a half a dozen times, I have stayed at several different hotels on the strip and downtown - old and rundown to huge and very nice. I prefer to stay downtown - the gambling seems to be better and the dealers more helpful. Not to mention far cheaper than the strip - and the added bonus of not having a zillion drunk 21-yr olds. I have stayed at the Plaza - it is old, but the room was HUGE and we really spent very little time in it. My sister recently stayed at the Nugget and loved it-newly renovated and nice. I have seen La Reve at the Wynn-loved it! Also seen Erocktica at the RIO, if you like rock, this is a great show - think old AC/DC, KISS, etc. Have a good time!! Be sure to venture out to the desert as well - it is stunning! I am from the midwest so anytime I can see or go up in the mountains I am there!!

50. I DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH A TOWN THAT'S FULL OF "BAD BEHAVIOR" I WISH PEOPLE THAT FOLLOW "WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS STAYS IN VEGAS" WOULD JUST STAY THERE. WATCHING PROSTITUTES,PIMPS AND DRUNKS ARE NOT MY IDEA OF A FUN VACATION. I'LL TAKE THE SHOPPING, GREAT FOOD AND BEAUTIFUL SUN AND WEATHER OF HAWAII ANYTIME OVER VEGAS ANYDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

51. I know you listed "Vegas Hotels"....but some people don't know that they all offer free outdoor shows. You should watch the Mirange Volcano, Bellasio Fountains, Treasure Island's Pirate Ship....most of them offer something, and it's neat!! But as soom mentioned....shopping is my favorite!

55. To those who think Las Vegas is a tacky city, or a poor excuse for a city, let me say this... I have lived here ten years, and while I don't consider Las Vegas my favorite place to live in (I've lived in Manhattan (NYC), Gainesville and Clearwater, Florida to name the most significant places I've lived, but those of you who view Las Vegas as tacky or pathetic have only looked at the city from the standpoint of the Strip I'm sure, and nothing else. That would be like judging the value of NYC by Times Square alone, or by just having seen a small part of it, like The Bowery or The not too glamorous Lower East Side. You have to take all of Las Vegas into account when making your judgment of it. If you remove The Strip and the like from the evaluation Las Vegas is a very lovely little "suburban" type town, with beautiful homes, beautiful neighborhoods, good schools, intelligent caring community minded citizens and all the good and necessary things that make up an average, even above average intriguing American town, burb in which to live. The Strip is the tourist trap, the traveler haunt, the place tht catches the "vermin" if you will from out of town, other towns, that probably couldn't measure up to Las Vegas, the part other than the Strip I just described. The tacky people, the less than bright indviduals that "Jimmy" alludes, none of whome I would gaurantee are Las Vegas locals. They'r beer guzzling, partying, moronic tourists from other towns, most probably yours Jimmy and others like you, those who judge without knowing all the facts, and are quick to judgment, and see the cup half empty rather than half full. Las Vegas locals wouldn't be caught dead near the strip and usually are only forced to go there, again, to entertain out of town visitors who's tongues hang out for $2 shrimp cocktails, and 99 cent breakfast, because they're cheap, low life, once again out of towners who come here to be hedonistic, sometimes destroying city property in the process and act like they would never act in their so called "classy and dignified" hometowns where $2 shrimp cocktails and 99 cent breakfasts aren't available, but they would be first in line at home if they were! When you've surveyed ALL of Las Vegas Jimmy, and the rest who feel the same way about it, get back to me. I dare you to have the same opinion then!

56. I just got back from Vegas 4 days ago and I had an AMAZING time! We were there for 4 days and 3 nights and it was no where near enough time to see all the things I wanted to see; We dont gamble much just went to have some fun; The most exciting thing we did was take a helicopter to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and have a champagne lunch; there was NOTHING like it in the world! Mystere was an amazing show; saw Hans Klok at Planet Hollywood - If your only going for Pamela Anderson dont waste your money she is only in the last part of the show for about 5 mins. Fantasy at the Luxor was a decent topless show and the VooDoo Lounge at the Rio is spectacular view and a great place to party! I can't wait to go back and see some more of the fabulous city!

57. Hands down, Vegas is becoming the culinary capital of the U.S.. Most celebrity chefs (many featured on the Food Network - Flay, Emeril, Wolfgang, etc.) have establishments within the resorts. My personal favorite is Mesa Grill (Bobby Flay). If you like a heart-warming story, take a walk to Bellagio. The Head Chef of Bellagio, Jeff Henderson, is a wonderful example of life giving you a second chance. The town is constantly evolving and has become the epicenter of America's culinary revival. If you want a relaxing weekend of people-watching, spa treatments, and fine dining, you might want to consider a plane ticket to Vegas.
Long gone are the days of "going to Vegas to risk it all."

59. Why skip No.9 Mia? I actually got married in Vegas, and still happily married, thank you. We like to go every year, but now with kids its a litte difficult. We love the Luxor, any magic show, and of course Cirque du Soleil. My wife and I were picked to be part of their opening act, scary but fun! Go there, you never know, anything can happen in Vegas, anything!
We love to travel, so come visit our up and coming blog http://www.traveljot.com, by the way, can't believe golf in Las Vegas did not appear in your searches.

60. It's great to read all your comments here. What would you recommend someone to see or to do who is going to Vegas for the first time - beside gambling and Celin Dion ...lol... ? Couple insider tipps would be great.
