acity, but people don't really talk about it that much. When I was younger and first had to learn to shave my legs, I remember it being like a big secret. Honestly, I do not think it is a big deal ... but everything is a big deal when you are 12, right? I feel like now there are so many more hair removal options out there. Looking at what people searched for on AOL Search, I am right. Laser hair removal and waxing are popular methods. I did not even know about Vaniqa. And a depilatory? Apparently it is a fancy word for something like Nair.
Do you know any hair removal secrets that did not make the list? Try searching for hair removal on AOL Search or check out AOL Body.

The greatest advantage of opting for Permanent Hair Removal is the freedom it gives you from hair removal repeats. Of course, it does not promise complete elimination of all hairs, but it’s the next best thing you can have to having a hairless body. You can achieve Permanent Hair Removal by two methods-electrolysis and laser treatment. But you can find more great information about the laser hair removal treatment here: http://www.hairremovaljournal.org. I hope it helps!

If you are of mediteranian descent - do not waste your money on laser. If you have polycystic ovary syndrome - definitely do not waste your money on laser - the hair will grow back worse than before - and you can spend thousands - let my thousands be your example. Consider threading for your facial hair, neck, chin, eyebrows, chest. This is usually done only by Indians, Vietnamese/Laosian or Pakistani women - and they are very good at it - it is not painless - but less so than waxing or laser. The results are smooth and long-lasting - and the price is very reasonable. Usually around $5-$10 for eyebrows -up to less than $50 for larger areas. Look at nail salons for this service rather than a spa - most spas are owned by Americans (anglos) and do not provide this service. You can expect a little redness (no more than plucking your eyebrows yourself) and if this bothers you - just use some ice afterwards. If the pain of it bothers you or the idea of the pain of the threading - get a rx for some EMLA cream - and apply this beforehand - with all of the other pain that we go through as women - threading is relatively minor and the results are great.

Threading is not only cheaper but it's actually better for facial har removal. Facial waxing is bad because it causes loss of elasticity and that means... more wrinkles, faster! So find a threader near you. Once you get it done a few times you can figure it out and do it yourself... At least that's what I did!

Sugaring works the best. It is similiar to waxing but much better. There are no toxic chemicals or wax. The sugar base product has organic items that are actually good for your skin such as tea tree oil, aloe vera, vitamin E, etc. And it hurts way less. Plus no ingrown hairs, and way less trauma.

I have noticed that when I get my "mustache" ( hair over top lip) waxed, they always put some cream on my face. I go home, and a day or two later I get red bumps there. It is like the cream or the wax residue is clogging up my pores. Is there a good way to remove that residue well???? Thanks for any info.

Yes, sugar base compound is the best hair remover, and by time hair density decreases considerably. It only requires knowing the exact proportions of sugar, lime juice, water and minutes cooking the cooling and handling!
No doubt experience is required. . .

I also have to vote for THREADING! Both for eyebrows and above the lip, it is quick and easy. No mess. My daughter and I found a kiosk that offers this service in our local mall. A little weird doing it in public, but what the heck.

I find that threading is a great method for removing hair. The hair does come back after a week or two but it comes back thinner.

There are some quick temporary fixes, but the only permanent method of hair removal is electrolysis. Tweezing and waxing makes the hair come in darker, coarser and thicker. Often it stimulates folicals, that weren't producing hair, to start producing and you actually end up with MORE hair. Electrolysis takes a series of treatments to catch the hair in the growing stage when it can be treated most effectively. It takes some patience and commitment, but is worth it!

I would like to know more about the sugar removing hair
By karen on Sep 10th 2007 at 12:11AM
Sugaring is a lot like waxing. I have very coarse black stubble and tweezing is the only solution I have found and I have tried it all. As I said before, the new machine called "Tweezies" works pretty good with only a few strays left over.

Vaniqa does not work on everybody. It did nothing for me. Also I have been told lasers only remove dark hairs, I have white hairs on my chin so it won't work. The machine "Tweezies" works fairly well with only a few strays left afterwards. To be plucked.

When it comes to my face, nothing compares to threading!! I would NEVER put hot wax on my face, the most delicate face on your body! I have found threading to be inexpensive, much more precise and a much cleaner look. The trick is not just finding one, but finding one that knows how to do it correctly!!

By far the best and cheapest method is epilation, first off you buy the device it costs 40-60 bucks, then you're good for at least 2-3 years. I personally think emjoi epilators are best, the emjoi gold, and the new light caress. check it out on ebay or from their site

I also want to learn more about sugaring.
By rose on Sep 10th 2007 at 1:41AM
PLEASE TELL ME MORE ABOUT SUGARING....
By rose on Sep 10th 2007 at 1:42AM
Every part of the body is discussed here with one exception. Starting about 10 years ago hair remonval of the area surrounding the vagina became popular. It is so rare to see what type of hair removal in the ever so private area of our bodies. Yet once one joins the crowd it probably takes longer to shave than any other area!
Can't a girl get some advice about pubic hair removal please?
Thanks, Carol

#6 I am an esthetician, you certainly do not know what you are talking about when it comes to hair removal. Waxing and tweezing actually weaken the hair follicle and the hair grows in softer, thinner and weaker, you NEVER get more, NEVER. You are born with a certain amount of hair follicles all over your body and you cannot create more. It eventually stops growing, the more you wax and tweeze. Don't you notice ladies in their 50's that have no eyebrows because they tweezed them to thin in the 60's. COMMON SENSE tells you that if you rip something out enough times that it will eventually stop growing. My body will tell you so, I don't need permanent hair removal because after twenty years of waxing my face and bikini I hardly have any hair, and it used to be a bush and now I am a sexy Brazilian. So please before stating soemthing you think is fact, please know your facts.
