I am kind of a perpetual hypochondriac. My friends make fun of me because I'm constantly looking up symptoms for things online. After over a year of blogging about what people search for, I know I am not the only one who does this. People are constantly going online to learn more about health topics. Last month I did a post on women's health topics so I thought that it would only be fair to talk about the health topics that men are searching for as well. There are some interesting things that came up in our results. Since I am not a man, I was not really versed in what a lot of these topics are. I have definitely learned a lot today!
The #1 search that came up was for prostate cancer. I know that this is a really big health issue. Men are searching for everything from ulcerative colitis to prostatitis to hair loss. They also want to learn more about vasectomies and indigestion.
Is there a health topic that you go online to learn more about? If you think that you are experiencing any of these health issues you should go see your doctor. You can also learn more by searching for men's health on AOL Search or going to AOL Health for information.
Top Searched Men's Health Topics on AOL Search:
1. Prostate cancer
2. Urinary tract infection
3. Ulcerative colitis
4. Hair loss
5. Vasectomy
6. Premature ejaculation
7. Insomnia
8. Impotence
9. Prostatitis
10. Indigestion

1. I wanted to take this opportunity to tell people about a new innovation in men’s accessories called Jockease that’s sweeping across the globe.
As crazy as the idea sounds, once you wear’em you’ll never stop!

2. It is silly to think anyone would "blush" over getting info on any health condition, even "number 8". Would you blush to find out why your car didn't turn over the first time? Grow up already !

3. I am surprised that memory loss is not on the list, especially in light of all the aging baby boomers with memory loss concerns. If you are interested, here is a great site to screen your memory processes:

4. Oops! In my last comment concerning a great memory screening website, I "forgot" to ensure that it was a live link, which follows:

5. Out of ten There is a simple answer to most of these categories. Exercise regularly, sleep well, and supply lots of antioxidants. 6-10 servings of fruits and vegetables in your diet daily. If you can not use Monavie Nutritional beverage for your health and wealth building as well and retire early so you have no worries and less stress.

I have lots more links on the biological effects of EMR/RF exposure, but I forgot where they are.

9. Blush ... on any of these topics? What are you a foolish teenager who hasn't figured out what a wet dream is? So instead of AOL hiring foreigners, now they hire fools.
I need to change my internet provider, the topics AOL comes upwith as news worthy is on a par with lip sincing to rap.
BTW Grampa does not have ED, he's just old and it wore out. Gonna get him an erector set for his B-day.

12. Soooooooooooo, women are right...men care only about whatever happens below their waists. Any real news out there?

13. It's interesting that the number one cause of death in men (and women) is not in this list, heart disease. It is also interesting that six of the ten topics deal directly with one medical specialty, urology (impotence, ejaculatory dysfunction, vasectomy, urinary infections, prostate cancer and prostatitis). Besides, men's health issues, urologists also treat kidney diseases and bladder problems. And beyond your general/family doctor I would encourage everyone to seek out a urologist for expert opinion.

16. hyp....ER!....chondriac!......jeez!
hypo means low or non!
hyper means exessive! or "more"
no wonder the american IQ. is dropping like a rock!
Posted at 9:41PM on Jan 13th 2008 by castaway
17. hmmm actually both terms are used about the same
after searching it in depth.
although it IS labled (hypochondriac) as something of a misnomer by some "experts" due to the fact i mentioned previously that hypo, as in "hypo-alergenic" means less, not, non, etc.
not that surprising though words evolve and change over time.
like "terrific" is used as a "good" word these days
terrific-,terrible, terrifying, terror etc.
while aweful is used as a "bad" word.
awesome, awe inspiring, etc.
totally backward. lmao

18. I can well understand the first two searchs. I am 62 and have no health care insurance. I have prostate and bladder cancer.
If you have any health challenges whatsoever, go get
it checked out. If you wait too long, the prognosis
and what you will have to endure multiplies geometrically.
In my case, I am getting through day by day. But this
is not what I expected my health or my life to be
like. I would not wish this on anyone else.
It is bad enough when the word cancer is used in a sentence with your name attached to that word. But even worse is when the status of that disease is
considered terminal. Don't let it happen to you. What little you go through to get tested is nothing in comparison to what you'll go through later in the
disease process.
