My neighbor recently bought the cutest little Beagle the other day. Buddy (the puppy) is really cute and after playing with him for over an hour, I realized it might be time to get a puppy. Then I thought back to my childhood and remembered how much work it was for my parents to raise a dog. I'm not certain I am ready for that yet. But I thought it would be interesting to find out what types of dog people are searching for.As you can see Chihuahuas are at the top of our list. Is it because the Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world? They usually weigh around two to three pounds as adults. Yes, those are the dogs that you see popping out of certain celebs handbags. Other small dogs include pugs and Yorkshire terriers. I think pugs are so cute with their wrinkly faces, although they do tend to breathe loudly and are very hyper.
Did you know that poodles are one of the most popular breeds in the world and are a symbol of elegance? Poodles are available in many different colors and come in three different sizes: miniature, standard and toy.
The Siberian husky -- known as the sled dog --and golden retrievers are very popular family dogs because of their friendly and patient demeanor. German shepherds ,on the other hand, were originally bred for herding sheep are now favorites for law enforcement and the disabled.
As you can see each breed has its own set of specialties. Are you a dog owner or getting ready to purchase a puppy? If so what's your favorite breed? If you don't see it on the list try searching for dog breeds in AOL Search.

42. Elizabeth, I think that you should stop having sex too until all the surplus human beings have been eliminated from the Earth too. We passed the Earth's carrying capacity for humans about three hundred years ago. Don't you think that all humans should be neutered too? Maybe you should volunteer to be first in line. Geez, it amazes me how some people think that they have all the answers to the world's problems and that everyone else should go along with them.

46. Regarding poodles...after owning, er I mean being owned by two of this breed, I find that unless you have lots of time and energy for exercizing and training, they really aren't the breed match for you. Also, if you are interested in this breed, you need to do a cost analysis on the grooming aspect. They have hair, like you and me, not fur, like most dogs. So they grow hair like crazy, and it needs to be groomed. Also, they are very prone to Addison's disease, which can be very costly (trust me on this one), as well as a constant management issue...with all that said, I do love my poodles and couldn't have asked for smarter, more fun companions...they are like living with 6 year olds...for 10-12 years...LOL

49. I agree with Elizabeth! There are so many dogs in shelters that need homes. I have 5 shih tzus who all came from mills or shelters. There are too many people making too much $ breeding litter after litter. There should be laws to say how many puppies a breeder can have.

50. someone said:
4. "Until all dogs in shelters and rescue find homes, no dogs should be bred".
That's similar to saying that no one should have children of their own until all orphans in the world have been adopted and found homes.

51. I agree with #4 Elizabeth. I love dogs in general, some are a bit scarey, but usually it's the owners! We need to have more responsable owners!

54. I have 3 pomeranians. I think they are the most loveable dogs in the world. My little girl was rescued from a puupy mill. So she is really special to us. But if you want a dog that is loyal and pretty quiet then you need a pommy.

59. I think one of the most overlooked, most loving and loyal, the easiest dog I've had to potty train and have about 98% success retaining that training into adulthood,is the min-pin.Not related to doberman pinchers, but closely resembles a puppy version that never grows up.Beautiful, graceful little lap dogs!!!!
