My neighbor recently bought the cutest little Beagle the other day. Buddy (the puppy) is really cute and after playing with him for over an hour, I realized it might be time to get a puppy. Then I thought back to my childhood and remembered how much work it was for my parents to raise a dog. I'm not certain I am ready for that yet. But I thought it would be interesting to find out what types of dog people are searching for.As you can see Chihuahuas are at the top of our list. Is it because the Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world? They usually weigh around two to three pounds as adults. Yes, those are the dogs that you see popping out of certain celebs handbags. Other small dogs include pugs and Yorkshire terriers. I think pugs are so cute with their wrinkly faces, although they do tend to breathe loudly and are very hyper.
Did you know that poodles are one of the most popular breeds in the world and are a symbol of elegance? Poodles are available in many different colors and come in three different sizes: miniature, standard and toy.
The Siberian husky -- known as the sled dog --and golden retrievers are very popular family dogs because of their friendly and patient demeanor. German shepherds ,on the other hand, were originally bred for herding sheep are now favorites for law enforcement and the disabled.
As you can see each breed has its own set of specialties. Are you a dog owner or getting ready to purchase a puppy? If so what's your favorite breed? If you don't see it on the list try searching for dog breeds in AOL Search.

721. I am a professional dog trainer. By far and away the most popular dog I see is the Labrador Retriever. They are actually the most registered bred in America, with twice as many as the next most popular breed...Golden Retrievers. There are so many reasons Labs are this popular; they are very easy to train, tend to be docile and laid back, and most never meet another person or dog they aren't crazy about. Labs are such sweet, loving, gentle souls that are super with kids.

724. I never met a dog I didn't like. I am glad that people take care of their pets. Since I am an older lady, it is easier for me to have a cat. I have never been on this post before, so I would like to urge you to have your pet spayed or neutered, and to please support you local animal shelter.
Peace and paws

726. For the person thinking about an Irish Wolfhound, get one! The most gentle and loving dog and voted the best with small children. A very old kind soul in a hairy suit.
For the beagle lovers, I love 'em too, but have a neighbor with three. They bark 24/7 and are very annoying. Before I get beaten with a stick, I realize some owners train their dogs, just happens my neighbor isn't one of them.

729. I love all dogs, but everyone should get to know a doberman( not a mini pin- no offense meant) The warmnth of those big brown(or golden eyes) are so human! Wait till they smile at you. My rescue dobie, is unbelievable- visits the nursing homes and the people that use to be terrified of the big bad dobies, fall in love. They are really big babies.
just my humble opinion.

730. I have 2 Schipperkes, both rescues. Most breeds have a rescue organization-you don't have to start with a puppy and you get a great dog.

737. When my Basset Hound, Mathilda, died, I thought I would never get another dog. I finally got a Queensland Cattle dog/ Australian Sheperd mix, and all I can say is that I'm glad I did. He is the smartest dog I have ever owned. I haven't forgotten Mathilda, but Bluey is my " Best Dawg " now...Jim

740. I love Great Danes!! They are funny, loving, and so
graceful. Just remember these are inside dogs who think they are part of the human family. It breaks their hearts to be left alone in a yard.
