My neighbor recently bought the cutest little Beagle the other day. Buddy (the puppy) is really cute and after playing with him for over an hour, I realized it might be time to get a puppy. Then I thought back to my childhood and remembered how much work it was for my parents to raise a dog. I'm not certain I am ready for that yet. But I thought it would be interesting to find out what types of dog people are searching for.As you can see Chihuahuas are at the top of our list. Is it because the Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world? They usually weigh around two to three pounds as adults. Yes, those are the dogs that you see popping out of certain celebs handbags. Other small dogs include pugs and Yorkshire terriers. I think pugs are so cute with their wrinkly faces, although they do tend to breathe loudly and are very hyper.
Did you know that poodles are one of the most popular breeds in the world and are a symbol of elegance? Poodles are available in many different colors and come in three different sizes: miniature, standard and toy.
The Siberian husky -- known as the sled dog --and golden retrievers are very popular family dogs because of their friendly and patient demeanor. German shepherds ,on the other hand, were originally bred for herding sheep are now favorites for law enforcement and the disabled.
As you can see each breed has its own set of specialties. Are you a dog owner or getting ready to purchase a puppy? If so what's your favorite breed? If you don't see it on the list try searching for dog breeds in AOL Search.

166. I have three Bernese Mountain dogs and they are the sweetest and loving dogs around. They don't require any exercise, after throwing the ball 5 times they call it a day. They love to hang around you and put their paw on your foot to let you know they are there. Sometimes they want to be lap dogs but at 75 pounds each that can be difficult.
If you want a great family dog that is beautiful to boot Bernese Mountain Dog is your breed.

175. If you're bored, crave excitement, love face washings, enjoy being bossed, and covered with living fur blankets that snore - try a Norwich Terrorist - I mean Terrier. They are smart, lively, sturdy, determined and loving. Three are probably too many of these strong willed little tyrants but that's what I have and I love them all.

179. I have to disagree about rescue/foster dogs. We have fostered dogs before and trust me - I can tell you why these dogs were abandoned. Panic attacks/separation anxiety, one was a 'no growl before i eat your face off' kinda dog.
Now we own 2 beautiful, sweet, hypo-allergenic, none shedding Yorki-Poos. One is 15lbs and the other is 5lbs. Loving, smart, LOTS of personality. And they don't try to kill us or tear our house down!
