I have always found astrology very intriguing. What fascinates me the most is that the alignment of the stars can actually influence human lives. A person's personality can be affected by the position of the sun, stars, moon and planets at the time of their birth. There are twelve zodiac signs which are based on the constellations through which the Sun, Moon and planets transit across the sky. Your zodiac sign (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius or Pisces) is based on the day you were born and is said to determine your personality traits. I have to admit, I enjoy reading my horoscope to find out what my day might be like.
The Chinese also have their own zodiac signs which are named after animals. The Chinese zodiac refers to a pure calendrical cycle, not to constellations. Another type of Chinese astrology is feng shui, which is the study of living in harmony and prosperity.

23. This comment is for "mittens". Until you have studied astrology, don't critize it. I've studied for 25 years and could probably tell you the first time you ever drove a car by yourself. You can take that to the bank.

24. much of christian lore is indeed based upon obscure astronomical symbols, but i believe in the teachings of jesus, not the dates of births and deaths and what symbol means what, but of jesus teaching that we are brothers and all the other good hippy stuff he had. personally i belong to no specific church becuase of reasons like that, i merely follow the teaching of jesus.

25. Hey Mittens, since all you are seeking is a, "Ya, you're right!" I'll just give it to you... But I have to say, who are you to dictate what ignorance is? I can say you are equally ignorant about other topics of discussion so don't place a higher value on your knowledge than others'. Secondly, I can ask you if you've studied every pocket of gas in the universe to determine that they DON'T have an affect on life on Earth. It is also dangerous for you to accuse people's tactics of debate as being "You are wrong and I am right." Afterall, if you knew you were right, you wouldn't need to make response after response... unless ofcourse you need someone to say, "You're right!" Lastly, I ask you. if the moon's gravitational pull on the earth is strong enough to make a huge body of water, being the ocean, to rise and fall creating waves, what does it do to us wee human beings on earth who are about 75% water? Are humans just exempt from the laws of nature? All in all, check yourself hunny cuz ya don't know everything, but like I said, if it helps, "You are totally right!" Hope that return comment was good enough, if not let me know... in fact maybe you should write us all a list of guidelines for having a "good" return comment? I love you mittens even if you don't let people have their beliefs without name-calling. Peace, love and harmony!

26. This comment is to Mittens. I have to ask how can you say all that you have when your religion itself is based on astrology?

Please mittens do some research for yourself. A good start is http://zeitgeistmovie.com
And a little about your "teachings of jesus", vertually every major religion in History has had a version of the same story.
