Almost every Sunday, NASCAR is one of our top searched terms. With so many people addicted to the sport, I thought it would be fun to find out who the top searched NASCAR drivers were.NASCAR has grown to become the second-most popular professional sport in terms of U.S. television ratings, ranking behind the NFL. Its 75 million fans are considered the most brand-loyal fans in all of sports and as a result, NASCAR has more Fortune 500 sponsors than any other sport.
I've never been to live race before but I have heard it's pretty amazing. I can imagine the adrenaline rush the drivers get speeding around the race course and trying to avoid crashing.
As you can see our top searched driver is Tony Stewart, who currently drives the No. 20 Toyota Camry and is sponsored by The Home Depot. Stewart made headlines this year after he allegedly punched another driver during a meeting with race officials.
Following Stewart is four-time champ Jeff Gordon, he drives the No. 24 Chevrolet Impala and his primary sponsor is DuPont. The late (but still immensely popular) Dale Earnhardt is fourth while current points leader Kyle Busch is seventh.

21. I'm surprised Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is not on the list. He is the most popular driver and has won the most popular for the last five years (maybe more). I know you listed Dale Sr. and he is still a very popular "market". However, I can't help but think your Dale should have been Junior and not Senior. AND to put "frosting on the cake", my favorite driver has never been either one of the Earnhardts.

22. what do you nascar fans think about bristol TN, the first track that only has designated smoking areas, personally i think its gone too far because now we cant smoke a cig, yet we can absorb emmisions, bbq smoke, rv exhaust, burn outs etc.. jeesh i think its for the birds just another way for control freaks to ruin a good thing. just wanted opinions??

23. NASCAR is the most favorite racing sportin event. Love it or not. Nascar is here to stay ,your favorites will change and and go to better deals but always stay with your driver Dale Jr . rules in the long run.

26. What a lame article. I hate it when someone writes an article that knows almost nothing about the subject. They list the most searched drivers and equate that with popularity. Stewart is at the top of the list, not because he is the most popular but right now he is the most searched after his Goodyear sucks comment 2 weeks ago. Dale Jr, is by far the most popular driver in NASCAR and is not on the list unless the fool mixed up Dale Jr. and Dale Sr. If you do not know what you are writing about please let someone with good knowledge write the article.

27. I HAVE LOSS ALL RESPECT I HAD FOR Tony Stewart !!!!!!!!!! I work for Goodyear for 15 years....and love my job!! I have a 19 yr old daughter that DRIVING NOW and I only want her drivin on Goodyear tires !!!! I believe that much in what we do !!! Tony only thinks about Tony !! to say he's going home and take off American made tires shows what kind of a person he is !!!! I'll shop at Lowes from now on !!!!!!!!

28. NASCAR is an Awesome sport! These drivers are true athletes. One of my favorite drivers is Tony Stewart, The man can drive anything. Dale Earnhardt Jr is another. I have respect for all the drivers of NASCAR. They have all made a name for themselves and came up through the ranks of other forms of racing. Look at Gordon, who started racing at around age 5 and by the time he was a teanager, was racing and winning in Sprint Cars.
I hope to make this list someday as well. I hope to make it to the top of this list!
I am a young racer from Ohio that started racing at age nine. I have raced in different States from New York to Florida with hopes, plans and dreams of making it to NASCAR. Now at fifteen I am racing Legends Cars, one step closer to the next level.
I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to race at tracks like Kentucky Speedway, Atlanta Motor Speedway, Out Back at Lowe's Motor Speedway and am planning to race March 29/30 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

29. I agree, these Nascar drivers ARE athletes. I bet 3/4th of the so-called football athletes couldn't stay in a car for 1 hour let alone 4 or 5. I love Nascar and HATE football. I like something with a little action, something more than just watching a quarterback put his hand up a centers a**.

39. I think anyone that says NASCAR drivers are not athetes, are showing how intelligent they really are. I think the sport is one of the best in the World and watch it all the time, even when my driver isn't winning. I agree, if you don't like the sport, go away and talk about something you know something about.
