Almost every Sunday, NASCAR is one of our top searched terms. With so many people addicted to the sport, I thought it would be fun to find out who the top searched NASCAR drivers were.NASCAR has grown to become the second-most popular professional sport in terms of U.S. television ratings, ranking behind the NFL. Its 75 million fans are considered the most brand-loyal fans in all of sports and as a result, NASCAR has more Fortune 500 sponsors than any other sport.
I've never been to live race before but I have heard it's pretty amazing. I can imagine the adrenaline rush the drivers get speeding around the race course and trying to avoid crashing.
As you can see our top searched driver is Tony Stewart, who currently drives the No. 20 Toyota Camry and is sponsored by The Home Depot. Stewart made headlines this year after he allegedly punched another driver during a meeting with race officials.
Following Stewart is four-time champ Jeff Gordon, he drives the No. 24 Chevrolet Impala and his primary sponsor is DuPont. The late (but still immensely popular) Dale Earnhardt is fourth while current points leader Kyle Busch is seventh.
Did you favorite NASCAR driver make the list? If not, tell us about him or try searching for NASCAR on AOL Search. Don't forget to check out AOL Sports for the latest news on NASCAR.

41. The people who do not comprehend racing scare me.
Driving a vehicle and not knowing your car's or even your own limitations. Everybody that drives should take a high speed driving class especially teenagers.
Without the proper training you can only hope that
your A.B.S and Air bags will save your ass.

43. I think you might want to check your numbers on the whole Dale Jr./Sr thing. We watch NASCAR every weekend. On ESPN, Fox and Speed, we often hear Dale Jr. referred to as the "Most Popular Driver" and "The #1 Fan Favorite". I find myself wondering if maybe the Dale you have listed is Jr. not Sr. Don't get me wrong, Sr rocked but....

44. My guy is Robby Gordon. He is one of only a few
drivers of today that can drive almost anything. Godd luck to you and if you every quit NASCAR and
go back to INDY, I'll still root for you. J.

45. Both jr and sr were at times the most popular dispite their mediocre driving records. Senior only won 76 cup races and one Daytona 500, late in life, jr has never won a 500 or a chanpionship.
Smoke has won two chanpionships and twice as many races as jr and they started in cup racing the same year.
Being popular does not win races.

46. I'm not sure which Dale Earnhardt is on that list, It is a tossup. If I was placin money on it though, I'd say Junior. I'm actually quite surprised their both not up there.

47. I am a #24 fan, and a #48 fan. And we used
to go to Texas Motor Speedway. To the people who haven't been to a Nascar race, yes, it is amazing, and exciting. TMS would
get 250,000.00 fans. But it is worth it, if you get a chance to go.

48. Little "E" may not have won a championship yet, but he did win the Daytona 500, in 2004.
Get your facts straight.

52. I think Kyle Bush is a cry baby.Mike Helton needs to take him across his knee.(if you kmnow what I mean)He is Very NASTY to the reporters when he doesn't do well. How soon he seems to forget how fortunate he is to get the opportunity to be doing what most fans, let alone local racers would like to do! Also,if you were his sponsors, would you like your driver not thanking them(at every opportunity) for allowing him to do what he does?WAAAAA time to man up----- BOY!If the reporters could get away with it, they should pass him on by win or lose. Then he might be a world more humble.Every other driver is always willing to take time out of their day to talk to the reporters, with respect, whether they finish 1st or43rd.

55. They ought to be able to do anything to the cars they want to short of putting wings on them. What's with all these restrictions and standards? Hell, this is racing not auto manufacturing. Returning to "stock car" racing would show who has the guts and talent. My guess is that Jeff would still rule the roost.

56. I'm a Jeff Gordon fan, hands down the best racer in the sport of Nascar, now or ever. I know, I know, I've heard all the, but my driver so on and so on, But the stats dont lie, Like in all other sports they compare game for game, season for season. Nascar fans want to compare a 25 year record with a 10 year record and such. Do the math and check the stats they dont lie.Race for Race, year for year and you to will be a Jeff Gorden fan.

59. Nascar drivers ARE athletes! And not everyone that watches is stupid..., or a redneck! If I had to pick a sport to let my kids get involved in and find role models from...., it would be Nascar! Hmmmm, No one in Nascar has every raped anyone! No one in Nascar is being charged with using Steroids! No one in Nascar has been accused of using DRUGS! No one in Nascar has ever been sent to jail for dog-fighting...., or ANYTHING ELSE! And No one in Nascar has every killed anyone ( ie..., OJ! ). WHAT ROLE MODELS DO "YOU" WANT FOR YOUR KIDS? It's the ONLY family oriented sport that exists! Maybe baseball, football, and basketball could learn a few things from Nascar!
