Almost every Sunday, NASCAR is one of our top searched terms. With so many people addicted to the sport, I thought it would be fun to find out who the top searched NASCAR drivers were.NASCAR has grown to become the second-most popular professional sport in terms of U.S. television ratings, ranking behind the NFL. Its 75 million fans are considered the most brand-loyal fans in all of sports and as a result, NASCAR has more Fortune 500 sponsors than any other sport.
I've never been to live race before but I have heard it's pretty amazing. I can imagine the adrenaline rush the drivers get speeding around the race course and trying to avoid crashing.
As you can see our top searched driver is Tony Stewart, who currently drives the No. 20 Toyota Camry and is sponsored by The Home Depot. Stewart made headlines this year after he allegedly punched another driver during a meeting with race officials.
Following Stewart is four-time champ Jeff Gordon, he drives the No. 24 Chevrolet Impala and his primary sponsor is DuPont. The late (but still immensely popular) Dale Earnhardt is fourth while current points leader Kyle Busch is seventh.
Did you favorite NASCAR driver make the list? If not, tell us about him or try searching for NASCAR on AOL Search. Don't forget to check out AOL Sports for the latest news on NASCAR.

102. Regarding Comment 6....
"I hate NASCAR. The worlds stupidest spectacle with non-athletes sitting on their butts getting credited as athletes. Here's to the next massive high speed pile-up."
When you grow up, we'll all gang up on you. You're not up to taking criticism now and that'll probably be proved by any response you make to this one. Meanwhile, we'll be as polite as we can.

107. Home Depot sponsors a foreign car??? I'll never enter a Home Depot again. I do not do business with traitors who send their money to japs, the most cruel people on earth. Talk to a survivor of the Bataan death march.

108. My wife won tickets to the Daytona NASCAR races last month. Saw the Camping World 300 and Daytona 500; first NASCAR race for both of us. And had a good time at Holiday Inn's Hospitality Venue as well as touring all the sites at Daytona International Speedway. Two days of good stuff as far as I'm concerned. Had to add more channels to our satellite TV service the week before we went so we could get "Speed" and Fox Network to learn about NASCAR history, cars, drivers, tracks, and all that jazz......
Enjoyed every minute of it. Now my wife checks all the NASCAR schedules and plans her life around watching those fancy-colored cars zoom around the track. I've started watching some of them, too.

110. #19 John: Good point!
#14 Hoghair: Are you saying it's not possible for anyone to be better than Sr. You're heart is overshadowing your brain. There are many out there now more talented than Senior.
#6 bolawnow: I bet you can't wait to get back to your world poker championship on espn. What an idiot.
No one ever said they were the greatest athletes but they have exceptional skills and if you went around one lap at Bristol at about 4 or 5 g's you would puke your guts out. Would you say the same thing about air force fighter pilots?

113. i hate to see nascar fall but it seems that the more people you talk to about the sport the less interest there is in it.I think maybe mike helton needs to look hard at this sport and not the money sure if it falls it wont hurt his pocket but us fans will pay.

114. NASCAR totally sucks.... nothing more than hero worship and an excuse to guzzle beer and fill coke bottles with Copenhagen spit... oh yeah, and that constant hope for a massive 12 car pileup.

115. Regarding Bob's comment number 94....
"Home Depot sponsors a foreign car??? I'll never enter a Home Depot again. I do not do business with traitors who send their money to japs....
Better quit spending money anywhere on this planet if you don't want any part of it going to someone you don't like. In the late 1940's the US government helped the Japanese businesses learn how to deal and trade peacefully with the rest of the world. Now the Japanese have their fingers in every industrial pie there is. Every time you spend money anywhere, some part of it ends up in a Japanese workers pocket. Even if its the Japanese company that made the computer monitor used in the business in your home town where you bought something marked "Made in the USA" because that store owner is paying for that monitor with part of the money you bought something for.
Of course, some of that money ends up in the pockets of many folks in many countries. It's a world-wide economy nowadays; we all share in keeping it working.
Maybe we should get a search warrant and check your belongings to see if anything has even the tiniest part of it labeled "Made in Japan."

116. lets not forget the great female drivers! They deserve respect too!

117. I have to completely agree with Neo...NASCAR has lost a lot of TV viewers because of lame broadcasters
(and ex-racers) who just don't have a clue...when
ABC/ESPN or NBC covers a race, I watch with the volume off. GO SPEED CHANNEL..Go DW and Jeff!!! And where's Junior on your list???? Voted most popular for the last 4(?)yrs.at least...and it's about racing...not eye candy...you should get to a live race..at least once...try Bristol....what a rush!

119. After the death of Dale, Sr., many more people began to watch Nascar races. Therefore, the spokespeople for the sport began to tighten up on rules (language, equipment, sponsorship, etc.) Has it made the sport safer? Yes. Has it made the sport more marketable? Not necessairily. As a long-time fan, it's all gotten a bit PC for me, but so has the rest of the world. Will I keep watching? HELL YEAH!! I wouldn't miss the possibility of a thrown helmet!

120. I have been a Mark Martin fan for a good while. I think part of it is that Hack Roush is from Manchester OH and that is 10 miles from where I live.
My favorite driver has been Richard Petty. I have more respect for him as a driver and individual that I had for Dale Ernheardt.
I guess that is what makes NASCAR so popular is that we have all the drivers and we have our favorites.
