I remember the day my mom told me I was old enough to wear makeup. I was so excited that I immediately went out and bought Maybelline eye shadow, lipstick and blush. At the age of 16, I thought it was the greatest makeup ever. It was about the time I graduated college that I decided to graduate into the higher end cosmetics.
With so many great brands to choose from, my girlfriend and I decided to go to the mall and get our free make up demos. We found that Smashbox cosmetics had some fun products like the eye shadow trios and baked starburst bronzers. We also liked the shimmery lip gloss and blush that Bobbi Brown cosmetics created.
Now that I'm older, I find myself purchasing makeup based on how well it helps me conceal my age rather than how it looks. I recently started using Clarins and feel that their extra-firming foundation works really well.

281. I was surprised to see that M.A.C cosmetics was the #1 accessed cosmetic website. I have tried thousands of products and personally, I have never even heard of them. But, now I swear by Mary Kay. At twenty-five I began to develop acne, (never got it as a teenager mind you), but the Timewise line has my skin looking and feeling great! I love the mineral powder foundation and I think they have a great color selection for those of us business oriented twenty-something’s that want to look professional and beautiful but not too "hip," as some of the M.A.C blogs have promoted. Not too mention, I love the way that Mary Kay celebrates woman. Go pink!!!

289. I'm surprised that Avon was not mentioned on the list. Avon not only has great products, but are also animal-friendly! None of Avon's products are tested on animals and they have all the on-trend items that are overpriced in stores.
If you are looking for their collection for younger women, they have a line call Mark which has bright colors and great options for how to put it all together.
Satisfaction is also guaranteed with all of Avon's products. You don't like the color? Tell your Rep, and you'll get a full refund. No questions asked!

292. Please forgive the length of my comments.
I have been a Mary Kay consultant for 10 years and a Director for 4. When I was facialed 12 years ago I had terrible skin and found the products helped me tremendously. I am told regularly that I have beautiful skin. On many occasions I have invested in various advertised products to see how they compare with Mary Kay - this expenditure is tax deductible for consultants - and have yet to find a product that does what it says better than the ones I use and represent.
The heart of my comments are really to address postings by various individuals about our business plan. First and foremost we are not a pyramid. Pyramids are illegal and are defined as plans in which commission is paid by the person/people who are the next level up. Commission earned by consultants is paid by Mary Kay corporate and never by the recruiter or Sales Director. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I gather several who have posted have personal experience with Mary Kay as a business. It would be to the advantage of everyone who reads these opinions to have them be truthful. Which takes me to my second thought about our business opportunity. In ALL retail arenas, everone one of us have encountered sales reps who have been less than honorable and honest. The quest for the almighty dollar can turn otherwise lovely people into manipulative, aggressive "badgers" who are relentless in the pursuit of their own success regardless of what they have to do (lie, mislead) and/or who they have to use to get it. Much to the heartbreak of many, myself included, Mary Kay Cosmetics is not exempt from those people. In fact, because of the potential for financial gain, it attracts them! Despite Mary Kay Ash's hearts desire to build a moral company represented by ethical people, those who are driven to get rich and achieve their own personal goals at anyone's expense do call themselves consultants. They use the gracious words taught by Mary Kay herself, words which she was covicted to live, to manipulate and contrive others to achieve their end. My heart aches for all who have been taken advantage of by a Mary Kay consultant. First for that violation, but mostly because you have missed the true joy and satisfaction of being part of something good, honest, ethical and real. For those who have read these postings, please know there are Mary Kay reps out there who love our products, learn all they can so they can pass that on to their customers, really do just want to offer you the chance to try our product and be pampered, and truly do live the Golden Rule as Mary Kay herself taught us.

293. I'm not loyal to any brand because they drop lipstick colors. First Coty, then M.A.C., now I'm using American Beauty from Kohl's. I need a lipstick that stays on a long time and very few do.

296. Dear AOL,
W, if I may ask, TF? How can you -- a giant media player and arguably KEYSTONE of the internet, take such a lackadaisical attitude to comment spam. You realize that you're part of the problem don't you? Perhaps you haven't yet figured out that defeating comments spam is not only of paramount importance, but that it's also really, REALLY easy with the right sorts of plugins?
Yes, I realize they'd have to be ported over to your system. But I'm sorry, you have the developers to do it. You have the money to buy it. And you *should* have the commitment to clean up this stuff. You have no excuse and should be ashamed of not being active in this space.

299. This is to all who think Mary Kay women are just posting to make a sell. Maybe some women are, but most are just wanting to share the wonderful skin and the beauty you can get using our product. We know because we use. Mary Kay might be expensive to some, but it really takes such a small amount that what you buy can last up to 6 months or longer. I have a bad back and have only had 1 party in over a year and only sell to past buyers, my sister, my 2 daughters, and my niece, not to mention myself of course. So I make very little money for the company, but never once have I been treated bad for not going out and being pushy or whoring myself as one person said. I only recieve love and encouragement from those in "my Mary Kay Family" who really are what they teach. I will once again share my site to anyone who would like to check it all out, feel free to look, play on the virtual site, just compare, don't ever buy from me, I don't care. I just want to show you what you can get if there is a Mary Kay person near you if you want to try the real thing, feel the real beauty. My email is Ghannon@marykay.com or www.Marykay.com/ghannon. I won't post where I am from so you won't feel I am pushing to use from my state. All is shipped free or any samples we have I can ship to you free also so you can "makeup" your own face and mind!
