I suppose that I am as guilty as the next person of watching the tragic, cruel, and often hateful things that people do to one another on reality TV. Insert the meanest thing you ever saw on 'Survivor', 'Rock Of Love', 'The Hills' or even the 'Apprentice' here.
But everyone now and then there's nothing better at 'cleansing the palette' than a dose of law & order reality TV style. Our DVR at home is full of episodes from these dispensers of daytime justice.
The cases typically run the gamut of friends, family, business partners, and complete strangers bringing charges against one another. The conflicts range from petty grievances and misunderstandings to surreal episodes that can't be described without pictures and a vivid imagination. Those are my favorite!
Thank goodness that we can rely on road tested 'judicial' wisdom from people like Judge Judy, Judge Joe Brown and, if you're lucky enough to have him in syndication where you live, the world famous Judge Wapner.

3. judge judy is my whole family's favorite she makes great decisions tells people exactly what is happening and straightens them out i wish people would listen to her when she says do not give the other person a credit card do not lend money do not open a joint banking account as many times as she says it people are stupid they do not listen cause they think it will never happen to them i was raised to be the same way i will not lend money or any of it you cant trust people way to go judge judy we love you

4. no one like judge judy , she is the best , if every place or every town, which is impossible or every family has a person like judge judy . the world will be a happy place brimmed with wisdom and fairness, but not judge brown , please don't say judge brown , he sould do something else, i like judge mathis as well , very loving, sweet person

5. Judge Judy leads the pack far and away. Her common sense decisions, comments, and demeanor make her my personal favorite "Judge." But where do they find all these 'losers' that are dumb enough to be exposed on national television?

8. I don't think she should be called a "piece of work".
She shows more justice, compassion, intellect, fairness, equality on tv than anything I've ever seen in real life.

14. Judge Judy is one of my families favorites. She reminds us of my Mother and how she would talk to people the same way. We also enjoy Judge Mathis and Judge Joe Brown too. But we enjoy her comments and quick wit keep her a step above. Thank you for being yourself Judge Judy.

18. IN MY OPINION, JUDGE JUDY WINS IN THE ENTERTAINMENT CATEGORY. SHE SAYS WHAT SHE THINKS AND HER YEARS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE HAVE GIVEN HER THE CONFIDENCE TO TELL THE TRAILER TRASH LITIGANTS WHAT SHE THINKS. I HAVE BEEN ON A MEDICAL LEAVE FROM WORK AND HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE ALL BUT JUDGE JULES. I LOVED WAPNER WHEN HE WAS THE ONLY TV JUDGE. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE ONE OF HIS OLD SHOWS TO SEE HOW MUCH THEY HAVE EVOLVED SINCE HE STARTED THE DAYTIME COURT SHOWS.

19. I love and admire Judge Judy. My day revolves around her as she is honest, does not put up with smart mouth people or ones that take adnantage of anyone--which she can see in them. She is great... wish she would run for President---we need her.

20. Judge Judy is arbitrary and capricious more often than she's judicious. I fell off my chair laughing when in one case not long ago, she actually said
"You want fairness? Go to Washington DC, the Supreme Court. Here -- you get me!"
"Waspish" I think is the best term to describe her judicial demeanor 90% of the time.
Judge Joe Brown, on the other hand, is DA MAN!
I love it when he rolls out a sermon in legal language. He never misses the chance to advise litigants and viewers to be "calm, cool, collected and under self-control" as the best way to stay out of trouble; or to advise wayward young men that their role is to be providers and protectors within their community rather than victimizing it. And when HE declares somebody "pitiful and pathetic", he's not being nasty because of a surplus of Bronx attitute, but making a straightforward statement of fact.
Judge Judy herself should heed the "calm, cool, collected and under self-control" advice.
