I feel as though every week a new type of diet is making headlines. This week it's the Beckham and Holmes's seaweed and algae diet. Sounds totally gross to me, but I do have to wonder does this diet really work? And if does sign me up for some seaweed shakes! With bikini weather around the corner I decide to check out what the top searched fad diets were on AOL Search. Some of them on the list like cookie diet, chocolate diet and peanut butter diet actually sound really good. Who wouldn't want to eat these delicious foods and lose weight?
I really had no idea what the lemonade diet, DASH diet and Paleo diet were all about so I decided to do some research. The lemonade diet (aka Master Cleanse diet) consists of drinking lemonade with hot pepper and no food. I'm sure you can lose some weight with this diet plan since you never eat anything. The DASH diet favors fruits, vegetables, whole grains and plant-based protein over meat. It can actually help lower your blood pressure. Now that sounds like a more reasonable diet plan. The Paleo diet is based on eating foods that your body was designed to eat.
Do you know of a fad diet that's not on our top searched list? If so, tell us about it! Check out AOL Body for more information on dieting or try searching for diet plans on AOL Search.

1. I'm a weight couselor/motivator and definitely not a purist. I am all
for any tool than can help with weight loss as long as it is healthy. Fad diets usually don't work, but I do feel that lower carb eating (not low or no carb, just limiting processed "white foods") in general is healthy, but I think of that as more of a way of eating than a fad.
Here are a other few tips that I give out:
Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. If you can't be
perfect in your eating don't make the day a wash and start
"tomorrow".
Try to eat something you truly enjoy every day.
Try to eat tomatoes in some form..lycopene is great for all
especially men!
Get a pedometer and try to walk 10,000 steps a day.
If you don't get enough fruits and veggies take a good multi vitamin.
Try to get exercise in when you can. I have read about smartsoles on
many aol boards and they actually work, they increase calories burned
with each step and tone muscles http://www.smartsole.com
Join a support group to discuss food issues. I have found that good
old fashioned weight watchers truly is the best and not expensive.
http://www.weightwatchers.com
And the best thing I did for myself as a single woman is get a pet.
It has reduced stress for me and added to my happiness.
Try not to eat your heaviest meal too late.
Don't hold grudges!
Again all are "tries". nobody is perfect!

Zylene is great I started taking it about 6 months ago and have lost over 80 pounds. I would recommend it to anyone. Its natural and organic and will help you not just eat better but give you energy so you will feel better as well.
In addition to zylene I use Nutravex and Biozyte which really have helped with my overall health. They are a multimineral and multivatimin with anitoxidents that you do not get in your normal daily diet. They include Acai, green tea and others.
Check out my blog and the other websites for product info.

3. I found a diet for myself that acually works. I have lost over 25 ibs in under 2 months by cutting back calories. I try not to eat more than 700 calories a day. YES, it can be done WITHOUT starving yourself. There are some really tasty LOW calorie meals and snacks avalible. I also drink the no calorie drink mix that you mix in with your water and I can tell you that it tast pretty good and that means a lot coming from a picky eater!! LOL.. I am happy with the weight I have lost and Feel better about my body as well. No all I have to do is mantain the weight. If you are wondering: I do cheat on my diet 1 day a week so I do get to eat the things I want. I just have to whatch the calories, which can be time consuming but, in the end, it's all worth it! Well, to me it is..

4. The right diet is one that gets and maintain longterm results. There are no quick fix diets that can do that. The DASH diet with the balance between fat and low carbs is a good, health longterm solution.

9. "diet" is only a fabrication. there is no "diet".
only lifestyle change.
what's a lifestyle change?
a lifestyle change is when you [obviously] alter your current lifestyle for [more of ten than not] a healthier alternative.
don't exercise regularly? develop an exercise plan. aerobics, jogging - whatever fits YOU - and make an attempt to, at some point in your daily life, exercise for at least thirty minutes [per day]. set short term goals for yourself. it'll help.
don't eat healthfully; regularly? alter your diet [notice how I said DIET; which, in all actuality, is HOW and WHAT you eat; not an attempt or fabrication, developed by the American Entertainment Industry, to "make you lose weight". Fir instance, you can change your diet, and it still won't be healthy for you.]
yes, i am well aware of the economic inflation - times are difficult; and wholesome, healthful foods are EXPENSIVE [among other things]. Again, find foods and healthful products that work for you. Yogur, for instance is quite healthy AND beneficial to your digestive system.
Unfotunately, I can't think of anything else at this current moment in time..
remember it's LIFESTYLE CHANGE; NOT DIET!

12. There are SO many diet plans out there, it's mind-boggling! I'm about to give the vinegar shots a try that Fergie mentioned, just to see if that will give me a boost.
I've lost 18 pounds so far this month using the stuff at http://www.SizeZeroPill.info. It had a free trial so I figured why not give it a shot.
I've tried so many different products over the years and nothing seemed to work until I started that one. So to be averaging nearly a pound a day is pretty awesome I think.
Also, I haven't changed my diet any yet. I just take 2 pills a day and walk on the treadmill for a few minutes first thing in the morning. So I'm hoping that when I do get around to cutting back on calories and adjusting my diet my results will get even better. :)
Good luck to you all!

13. I like one bowl of oatmeal with raisins in the morning, a small sandwich in the afternoon with mustard..NO mayo., a piece of fruit, and of course anything you want for dinner...just in moderation and no dessert.
Once a week you have your choice of any dessert you want. Nice treat on a Saturday night.

16. READ FINE PRINT ON LABELS....the % of Fat Calories listed on the Label is not the actual % of Fat in a serving of that food but the % of Fat given on the label is the % of Fat for someone eating
2000 CALORIES a DAY,....and that is TOO many calories for most of the population unless the are burning 300/500 calories a day with hard exercise. Get a FATFinder Calculator and learn the TRUTH.
Leave Fat Calories at the grocery store 300 Calories a day for 30 days means 3600 less calories a month...
that EQUALS ONE POUND-12 Pounds a year. Get with it!
Get a Fat Finder and learn to eat once And for all.

17. Hey, interesting article about diets. I found that leaving wheat out of a diet can really cause serious weight loss in a short amount of time. I wouldn't do this unless you consulted a doctor first, but I left wheat and all wheat based products out of my diet and lost 20lbs in about a month give or take a week. It was great! I keep off the weight by running a few miles a week, laughing alot, and staying clean of wheat. :)

19. In the 33 years since I created Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET, I've treated more than a half million overweight patients with it. Any diet that has been around for three decades and has been used successfully by that many people can't accurately be described as a fad diet. Despite its catchy name, my weight loss program and hunger-controlling cookies are the result of serious science and have been used by more than 200 physicians in their own practices.
This week, an extraordinary number of news stories appeared in which it was reported that Madonna's husband, Guy Ritchie, had lost weight with Dr. Siegal's COOKIE DIET but that he also lost interest in sex. Trust me, the cookies taste good enough but they're not that good. Is there any cookie as good as nookie?
