I feel as though every week a new type of diet is making headlines. This week it's the Beckham and Holmes's seaweed and algae diet. Sounds totally gross to me, but I do have to wonder does this diet really work? And if does sign me up for some seaweed shakes! With bikini weather around the corner I decide to check out what the top searched fad diets were on AOL Search. Some of them on the list like cookie diet, chocolate diet and peanut butter diet actually sound really good. Who wouldn't want to eat these delicious foods and lose weight?
I really had no idea what the lemonade diet, DASH diet and Paleo diet were all about so I decided to do some research. The lemonade diet (aka Master Cleanse diet) consists of drinking lemonade with hot pepper and no food. I'm sure you can lose some weight with this diet plan since you never eat anything. The DASH diet favors fruits, vegetables, whole grains and plant-based protein over meat. It can actually help lower your blood pressure. Now that sounds like a more reasonable diet plan. The Paleo diet is based on eating foods that your body was designed to eat.
Do you know of a fad diet that's not on our top searched list? If so, tell us about it! Check out AOL Body for more information on dieting or try searching for diet plans on AOL Search.

41. I FOUND THAT JUST HAVING SEX 7
DAYS A WEEK WORKS FINE FOR ME

42. It's pretty simple really.
1. Eat nothing WHITE. NO white rice, flour, pasta, potatoes. Eat nothing but whole grain products.
2. Then cut your grain product consumption by half. Trust me, the amount of rice you get with a dish at a Chinese or Spanish restaurant is about 3x your daily requirement.
3. Replace grains with veggies. Instead of pasta, sautee zucchini strips or eggplant and cover with favorite sauce. Eat a big leafy salad with dinner with whatever dressing you want (better to get calories from fat than starch).
4. Eat PROTEIN. Cannot stress that enough. Have protein with every meal-- eggs for brekkie, turkey or tuna for lunch, chicken or beef for dinner (of course, you can mix this all up). Don't be afraid of CHEESE-- great source of protein, fat, CLA (essential fatty acid needed to lose weight) and Vitamin A.
5. And, of course, just stay away from sugar. No, really, stay away from it. Sugar is NOT a food, it is a drug, and a terrible one at that. Sugar not only causes diabetes, but interferes with digestion of protein and kills your sex drive too. That's right KILLS YOUR SEX DRIVE!!!
This is just a simple way to eat, and it works. No, you won't weigh 102 lbs, but then again, 99.9% of human beings are not supposed to weight that little. No, you won't lose 20lb in a week. You're not supposed to. But you will FEEL better in just days, you'll have more energy, you'll be a FAR better mood, you'll sleep better, and after a week you'll find you'll WANT to exercise, because you just feel so good.

43. I have always gained back every pound I ever lost until I started working out regularly and eating "snacks" every 2 hours. I start my day with either a bowl of cereal, whole grain english muffin w/peanut butter or oatmeal (hearty enough to get me through my workout. Then for the rest of the day I snack every 2 hours on any healthy 100-200 calorie snack I want...things like bananas, yogurt, string cheese, apples, almonds, granola bars, etc...if I am still feeling hungry...1/2 sandwich or another bowl of cereal, soup...then for dinner I have a "regular" meal with my family...protein (chicken, fish, steak), veggies (steamed, salad...), carbs (brown rice, couscous, even mashed potatoes)...if you eat heavier one day it's no big deal, it will balance out over time with the days you are eating especially light...then for dessert I like 10 cal jello, yogurt or fruit (and every now and then girl scout cookies or cheesecake!) Again for this to work it has to last forever so nothing is off limits you just have to find balance...healthy foods more often than unhealthy foods, lots of water and some exercise. I lost 30+ lbs and have kept it off (2 yrs) and I don't ever feel like I'm on a "diet"! Good Luck!

45. There's just something about the seaweed shake idea that makes my stomach do flip flops. I think I would rather just do the cookie diet, thank you!
One diet not on your list is the Fat Loss 4 Idiots diet: http://dietinspector.com/fat-loss-4-idiots-review/
Yes, it is a fad diet as well, but like most fad diets it does lead to fast weight loss. The trick of course is continue to keep the weight off when you come off the diet.
