Once a month my friends and I get together for game night. Sounds kind of corny, but it's actually tons of fun. With so many board games to choose from these days, the fun is endless.Last weekend we played a game called Quelf, which was actually hilarious. It's a game where you use your creativity, answer funny questions and perform ridiculous stunts. For example, one of our friends had her face wrapped in toilet paper and had to keep it on until someone rolled a six.
Wondering what board game to try out next month, I decided to see what the top searched board games are on AOL Search. To my surprise, many of the board games on the list were games I played as a child. I remember sleeping over my grandmother's house and playing Uno, Trouble and checkers. Those games were so much fun and, as you can see from our most searched list, these games are still very popular.
Other games such as Dirty Minds and Battle of the Sexes that showed up lower on the list are obviously skewed more toward the adult crowed. There are also some games that I've never heard of like Cluzzle, Blurt, and Gazootch. Have you ever played these?
Have any fun board games that you would like to share? Try searching for board games on AOL Search or check out AOL Shopping for some new board games. You can also play online versions of many popular board games at AOL Games.

1. You're missing two of the best -- Dutch Blitz, a fast action card game for up to 4 people and Sorry, a game in which you can lose when you've almost won. Both are great inter-generational games!

2. We are looking to add board games to raise money for the summer with our book fair. Anyone know of any vendor we could work with to do this? I heard that they had shortened versions of many old favorites--even Monopoly since families are busier.I would love some thoughts.

4. I run a website devoted to news about games, BoardgameNews.com, so I see lots of new games. My favorites from recent years are:
• Qwirkle - an abstract strategy game that plays like Scrabble with colors and shapes instead of letters. I've played 90 times in the past year and still find it really enjoyable. I wrote a column about the game in April 2007: http://www.boardgamenews.com/index.php/boardgamenews/comments/w_eric_martin_my_top_game_of_2007_is/
• Agricola - in which you play a farming couple trying to increase the size and status of your farm. This game, which is somewhat involved yet fun to play due to all the possible ways to play, has been released only in Germany to date, although the English edition is due out from Z-Man Games in June 2008.
• On the Dot - a new game from Gamewright that will likely appeal to fans of Sudoku. Each player has four plastic sheets with colored dots on them. Each round, you race against other players to arrange your sheets in the pattern shown on a target card, which will have you flipping and rearranging your sheets in all sorts of ways. Brain-boggling, and a nice challenge.
Check out BoardGameGeek.com for listings of more than 35,000 games, or visit my site for reviews and coverage of all types of new games.

15. Look, My Fiance and I picked up The new life game. Can't remember teh fuill name, but it is an electronic spinner and credit cards keep tab of your scores. Its not a bad game overall. We did way too many turns on the turn picker but we played it out anyhow. Good alternative to a classic game. Of course we still play Life, the classic version. Ya can't ever walk out on a classic.

20. We play bunco once a month. We have anywhere from 12 - 24 players. We each bring a snack or drink. We put in 10 dollars and christmas/hanakuh 20 dollars and do a grab bag (only christmas/hanakuh). You can win a cash prize. Last holiday bunco I won the jackpot of 140 dollars. Where can you go for about 13 dollars and have a blast with frinds for many hours..we have a new theme every month.
