As a child, I remember watching 'All My Children' with my mom. I actually loved the soap opera so much that when I was in college, I would rush home from class just to catch it. What is it about all the crazy drama that keeps us glued to our television sets? Soap operas have been around for well over 30 years. One of my girlfriends is addicted to 'As the World Turns'. She started watching the soap as a little girl, and thanks to DVRs she still watches it every day.
Since I've been out of the soap opera drama for a number of years, I decided to find out what the top searched soap operas were on AOL Search.
To my surprise not much has changed. The soap operas that were popular when I was a child are still popular today. As you can see, 'Days of Our Lives', 'General Hospital' and 'All My Children' made it into the top three. 'Fuego En La Sangre' (Fire in the Blood) is actually a Latino soap opera that has become popular over the past few months.

421. I have to tivo my soaps now but I can't remember when I didn't watch the ABC has always been my favorites. General Hospital is the best.

422. All My Children is the only soap I watch faithfully everyday. Zach and Kendall Slater are my favorite couple. I am happy the show is starting to turn around and the writing is getting better. I do watch Young and the Restless and Days of our Lives on and off not everyday.

424. I can't believe that One Life To Live is #6! That is crazy Days you got to be kidding me.I like all the soaps that is on Channel 9 and Days is not one of it.OLTL show be in 1st place.

425. I WORK NIGHTS SO MY WIFE MAKES ME WATCH ONE LIFE TO LIVE AND GENERAL HOSPITAL, IN THAT ORDER. IF I MISS ONE WE WATCH THEM ON TAPE ON MY DAYS OFF. I GUESS IF YOU WATCH SOMETHING LONG ENOUGH YOU BEGIN TO DEVELOPE AN INTEREST IN IT. POINT BEING I GUESS I WOULD HAVE TO SAY GENERAL HOSPITAL IS MY BEST OUT OF THE TWO
