As a child, I remember watching 'All My Children' with my mom. I actually loved the soap opera so much that when I was in college, I would rush home from class just to catch it. What is it about all the crazy drama that keeps us glued to our television sets? Soap operas have been around for well over 30 years. One of my girlfriends is addicted to 'As the World Turns'. She started watching the soap as a little girl, and thanks to DVRs she still watches it every day.
Since I've been out of the soap opera drama for a number of years, I decided to find out what the top searched soap operas were on AOL Search.
To my surprise not much has changed. The soap operas that were popular when I was a child are still popular today. As you can see, 'Days of Our Lives', 'General Hospital' and 'All My Children' made it into the top three. 'Fuego En La Sangre' (Fire in the Blood) is actually a Latino soap opera that has become popular over the past few months.

81. I have watched Y&R for years, but am not happy with all the changes with the couples. I loved Sharon with Nick, there is no chemistry with Jack, and she is not as sexy as she was with Nick. I can't stand David Chow and Nicki, again, no chemistry.
I'm sick and tired of Jack acting like the martyr all the time. He is just plain sickening.

85. LOL! AMC was born the same month as my son: January, 1970. I've been watching since then. He is now 38, as is AMC, and even he watched it with friends during his college years. My husband and I watched it together for a few years but he became frustrated with the writing. To that I say, the loyalty is to the actors and a good story line is a bonus for me. We relate to the actors and a good scene is worth a hundred "not so great" ones. Love you AMC!!!!

I have watched the young and the restless since it has been on the air and love the show. as for the Guiding Light, I was a big fan of it but the way the show is made now I dont care if I see it very often. They should go back to the way they used to have it. Dont take it off the air, just bring the old way back

87. I have been watching AMC since 1978 snd tape or watch it every day. I get very upset when "News Break" always come on at the same time...
Anyway, AMC is my family and I have to know what they are doing...It's the best one.
The men in my life make fun of me, but always want me to wait for them to watch it on video.
Men don't want to admit they love it, but they do.

90. I started watching Guilding Light and As the World Turns as a young girl - since those are the ones my mom watched. Have also been addicted to Y&R and AMC at different times. Now the only soap I'm addicted to is Coronation Street (I live close enough to Canada to pick it up on the CBC station.) Corrie is a real soap with real people (not models who can sort of act) and believable storylines. People on Corrie don't come back from the dead, travel through time, belong to the mafia or get cloned - but they do work at the local panty factory or corner shop, raise pigeons or cut hair, have affairs and meet down the pub every day for a pint. And the children don't take those quick-aging pills that turns them from toddlers to young adults in 6 months. :)

91. why should it surprise anyone that the Mexican
soap is popular? the illegals have been demanding
that everything be provided in Spanish. I have to
pay for Spanish language channels on cable I don't want and don't need. I think if you want Mexican
tv, you should have to pay extra for it- we live
in the US- we speak English here- if you want to
continue speaking Spanish, having everything
provided in that language- leave and go back to
whatever country you came from!!!!!

92. DAY's is the only soap I've watched for years. I LOVE the show & the actors, so many Great ones! I do get frustrated at losing Shawn, Bell, Billy and some of the others that have gone. Love Kayla, Stephanie, Chelsea and very happy to have Nicole back she is GREAT & when she & Sami get together some of the best acting ever. Some things are to far out & Bo having serious surgery then running off to find Hope is a joke. Get rid of Rolf he is a waste of $$ other actors could have been paid instead of letting them go.

94. I LOVE Y&R AND DAYS BUT I WAS BUSY W/ KIDS NO TIME FOR DAYS SO I LOST INTERESTING W/ DAYS CUZ THERE ALOT OF NEW CHARACTERS.. SAME THING TO Y R WHY THEY MAKE NEW CHARACTERS?? 95. I too use to be a faithful watcher of All My Children but it has gone sour and boring.. I love One Life to Live and of course General Hospital.. AMC needs to go back to the Erica and jack reunion and make it stick this time and enough of Ryan already and his memory lose.. BORING

97. I LOVE As the World Turns! I got addicted to it when I was waiting tables at a place that was only open at night and now I dvr it every single day. But I don't know anyone else personally that watches it - which sucks! Who can I talk to about the drama in Oakdale??
