My girlfriend called me the other day all stressed out because she just started a new job and, on top of that, she's trying to plan for her July wedding. Her stressful new job is causing her to stay up late, overeat and smoke more than ever before. It's also putting a damper on her relationship with her fiancé -- not a good way to start a marriage.
After some consoling words of "everything is going to be fine," we hung up the phone and I began to wonder, "How do some people lead stress-free lives?" Some people seem to be able to handle every conflict and overloaded to-do list with ease, leaving the rest of us envious of their stress-free lifestyle.
Today, I set out to find their secrets. I decided to look at what our top searched stress-relieving products are on AOL Search. Before my search, I thought expensive things like spa gift certificates for massages and facials would be the most searched, but I was surprised to find that simple things like lighting a candle or brewing some tea for relaxation are even more common. In the end, it looks like candles, tea, hammocks and water fountains are at the top.
Do you know of any good stress-relieving products that did not show up on our list? If so, please tell us about them. If you're looking to reduce stress in your life, check out AOL Shopping or try searching for stress relievers on AOL Search.

61. I find that almost any kind of exercise, yoga, tai chi, or just laying on the floor stretching every muscle for 15-20 minutes helps relieve stress every time. The #1 best stress reliever is sex, of course, but that can't always be done at the time it is needed most - so try a little exercise.

65. Hello,
The best way that helps me deal with stress is by starting my day off with a prayer, thanking God for all that I can think of. Then praying for others in need and then my family and self. Then I read in the book of Proverbs in the Bible. There are 30 Proverbs so whatever day it is, I read that Proverb. For example, today is May 15th so I read Proverbs 15. All together this takes me no more than 10 minutes. However Ive grown to spend more time in prayer and reading and a good 20-30 minutes is the remedy for me. I hope some will try this. You never know what God has in store for you. Blessings to All. Katie

69. Tv or a good movie. If too many overwhelming things are happening in my life at once, I put on a familiar tv show or movie and just remove myself from it all. Then, when the movie is over, I take on one thing at a time. Even if its the type of probs that can't be completed in one sitting, I am in a much better place to play round robin.

74. Another stressed out HS teacher here - my remedy in class and out is humor. I even laugh with my students about how they stress me. I have one of those mini Zen gardens, like they sell at Barnes and Nobles... And if things get crazy, either I grab it or I hand it over to the student. The tiny rake and little stones are just goofy enough to refocus attention and give the time, seconds though it may be, to realize that "this, too, shall pass".

75. I like spending time w/ my cats. Whenever I've had a particularly bad day at work, I know I can come home and get unconditional love from those little fur balls. I can feel my BP dropping as I pet them, and watching their antics while they play makes me feel lots better

80. Realize that you are not the center of the universe, that you are but a part of it, that life is a journey not a destination. Understand that the material things you strive to aquire enhance your stress and mean nothing as to your worth as a human being.
