My dad recently bought a Bowflex machine after seeing it advertised on television. I guess it was his mid-life crisis way of wanting to be as buff and handsome as the man on the infomercial.
I admit that the 15-minute or so infomercials can be extremely convincing. The Proactiv ads convinced me that I could have skin like Jessica Simpson in just a matter of days and my mom and I still use the ButtMaster advertised by Suzanne Somers on her old infomercials..
After watching my dad call in and purchase his new muscle-man machine, I started to wonder about which "As seen on TV" products generate enough interest through infomercials for viewers to search for them online, so I set out to find what our top searched "As seen on TV" products are on AOL Search.
Not surprisingly, most of these products deal with body image, including exercise equipment, skin care, makeup and diet pills. Other commonly searched products, the Shark Steam Mop and the Topsy Turvy are out of the ordinary household products. The popularity of Rosetta Stone, a language learning software program, is evident by how high it is on the list.

I'm a weight counselor as well as a cynic. Most infomercials that scream lose weight without trying or lose weight by just doing breathing exercises or clear up pimples overnight... I run from. There are some products that are commercial I like. I like the portable exercise bands that I have seen advertised...and I love the old Deal-A-Meal...I hate the old thigh master, though it was always a good laugh seeing Suzannes Summers working it!
In general as far as weight loss, I feel that lower carb eating (not low or no carb, just limiting
processed "white foods") in general is healthy, but I think of that
as more of a way of eating than a fad.
Here are a other few tips that I give out:
Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. If you can't be
perfect in your eating don't make the day a wash and start
"tomorrow".
Try to eat something you truly enjoy every day.
Try to eat tomatoes in some form..lycopene is great for all
especially men!
Get a pedometer and try to walk 10,000 steps a day.
If you don't get enough fruits and veggies take a good multi vitamin.
Try to get exercise in when you can. I have read about smartsoles on
many aol boards and they actually work, they increase calories burned

Join a support group to discuss food issues. I have found that good
old fashioned weight watchers truly is the best and not expensive.

And the best thing I did for myself as a single woman is get a pet.
It has reduced stress for me and added to my happiness.
Try not to eat your heaviest meal too late.

Its amazing how a great weightloss product can do once people start seeing the results. I have tried hoodia and its good but hoodia with green tea and the other great things in Zylene has been amazing for me.

I don't understand this high protien low carb thing.... I was always thin but i did it to support my mom, thinking it would have no effect on me, but I gained 20 pounds. I went back to eating pastas and breads all the time and went back down to my size 3's. Low carb doesnt work on everyone.

Rosetta Stone is very expensive, but it is a solid, dependable product. You don't learn a language without working at it, but with this tool you can really speed up the process. Two thumbs up for Rosetta Stone language learning aids.

Pro Activ does work, just not overnight. I have always had the oily, bumpy forehead, and I used it and after about 3 weeks, my forehead as smooth as a babies butt!! However, it can be very drying, so only use it on areas that are in need.

I truly think these little Chinese Manufacturers spend hours designing the most outlandish pieces of s**t knowing full well that at least 5 million gullible,overweight,lazy,depressed suckers in the U.S. will send enough money to them to make it worthwhile producing this totally usless crap!!
If you want to lose weight shut your mouth, push back from the table ,take the dog for a walk, and put your six payments of $49.95 in your pocket.
You will feel better and be pounds lighter.

I stay up late, and watch most of the infomercials. I own many of the products "as seen on TV", but bought a lot of them at my local thrift stores.(Guess some people just didn"t like them after they bought them) The Express 101 works fine. Paid $2. I have a FlavorWave Delux Cooker(works Great)I paid $5 for it! Was just like new. SECRET! You can print out info and instruction manuals for almost anything from the internet. I did. I have 2 Oreck XL Home Air Purifiers. (Bought New). Watched the demo ad on TV.

As an order taker for many of these products I do believe in some but not all. I believe in abcoaster ( I want one), the bean ( I have one), Fluidity ( would love to have one of these too), bare minerals ( I use it all the time and love it), Sheer Cover, and many more. As you see there are some that are great and them some that are scams, liposene, Kevin Trudeau, Most exercise programs unless you are really commited to the program and follow it truly, to many to list, and it is my job to sell them, just listen to yourself and believe that you can do it and pick the one that will work for you. There are some that sell over infomercials because the overhead of selling to retailers is to high for profit margins, they cut the middle man and do infomercials, then there are some that take advantage of the average person and want to make a quick buck. I am to honest to sell the quick buck items and will tell you when I believe in a product. As I said, listen carefully to them and weigh the options.

I bought Kevin Trudeau"s book ,(Natural Cures "They" Don't Want You To Know About)for 25 cents at a Goodwill store. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY on that one, believe ME!
