I attended a posh party last weekend where they were only serving top-shelf liquor. When I asked for a margarita, the bartender's response was. "Would you like Cabo Wabo or Patron Silver tequila?" Not being much of a liquor connoisseur, I opted for Cabo Wabo. I usually drink my margaritas with Jose Cuervo tequila, mojitos with Bacardi rum and white russians with Absolut Vodka. So as you can see, I'm not that familiar with top-shelf liquors. Maybe it's because I enjoy cocktails more than straight up liquor chilled or on the rocks.
I decided to find out which liquor brands are popular among our AOL Search users. As you can see from the list below, the most searched are also the most common types of whiskey, rum, vodka and bourbon.
Did your favorite brand of liquor show up on our list? If not, please tell us about it or try searching for liquor brands on AOL Search.

42. Hands down the Best Drink is Jameson Irish Whiskey straight up, chilled if prefered, but I don't chill mine. I drink a rocks glass like it's water. Whole drink down the hatch, no problem. Try that with a Jack Black and you lose your lunch.Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey is my 2nd choice and just as good as Jameson but harder to find. In a pinch I'll drink Crown Royal which was my favorite before I got turned onto Jameson. If you like whiskey it's definitely worth a try.

As far as tequilla goes, my fav is Sauza's Hornitos...one of the smoothest and best tasting, and not as pricy as some other top shelfers

55. As author of a book: "Whiskey & CSpirits nfor Dummies" I have no favorites -- or as I always tell people who ask, "The last one I tried." That's as true in Vodka as in wine. My only comment about Vodka: US regulations insist that it be distilled at least three times then filtered to remove any flavor agents before it can be called Vodka. (added flavoring must be mentioned on the label and is not necessarily distilled nor does it have to be from natural substances can come from eddences. Now ask yourself is packaging worth the differential in price?

60. My new favorite mixer is Airmed's Magic Hangover Shield...It's got a mild spiced cidery taste and it tastes great with Captain Morgan(heated up in a microwave, even better!). Airmed's is good all by itself, chilled, at the end of a night of drinking, for a better morning after!!! Cheers!
