I attended a posh party last weekend where they were only serving top-shelf liquor. When I asked for a margarita, the bartender's response was. "Would you like Cabo Wabo or Patron Silver tequila?" Not being much of a liquor connoisseur, I opted for Cabo Wabo. I usually drink my margaritas with Jose Cuervo tequila, mojitos with Bacardi rum and white russians with Absolut Vodka. So as you can see, I'm not that familiar with top-shelf liquors. Maybe it's because I enjoy cocktails more than straight up liquor chilled or on the rocks.
I decided to find out which liquor brands are popular among our AOL Search users. As you can see from the list below, the most searched are also the most common types of whiskey, rum, vodka and bourbon.
Did your favorite brand of liquor show up on our list? If not, please tell us about it or try searching for liquor brands on AOL Search.

66. I'm a huge fan of Tequila, I've heard from several people that they've had bad experiences with it. I suggest drinking top shelf such as Don Julio(my personal favorite) or Patron. No hang over the next day!

68. What, no Bombay Sapphire?? I love a good "very, very dry" martini (so dry I don't use vermouth) on the rocks, just a few. This is the smoothest gin I've ever tasted.

69. I love Burnett's Raspberry flavored vodka. It gets you drunk as hell but it doesn't have the smell of nail polish remover. Try it!

so lets talk a little scotch...
i like Dalmore's "Cigar Malt"....and a wisky salesman friend of mine who works for Whyte and Mackay from Glasgow came last summer with a nice bottle of Jura's Superstition....a slightly peated single malt...probably not found here in the 'States"...all i can say is its very good. They only drink single malts there. Some are aged to over 100 years! Needless to say, I didn't even get a wifff of that stuff

71. I'm a whiskey girl, my favorite being Crown, but in a pinch when money is tight, you can always go down a notch and get Canadian Club/Canadian Mist. Taste pretty much the same, lower cost.
A delicious shot made with Crown is called Washington Apple((I like to turn it into a martini when I go out))
5oz. Crown
4oz. of Dekuyper Apple Pucker
splash of grenadine(or you can use cranberry juice)
Tastes JUST LIKE an apple! Delicious!
I'm also a big fan of Jagermeister, but can only drink it if its mixed with Red Bull.
Not a big fan of clear liquors, so that rules out Vodka, every now and then I'll have a bloody mary though, usually made with Fris Vodka. Very smooth.

75. Okay children, this is how it is:
Gin: Tanqueray 10 or Hendrick's
Bourbon: Woodford Reserve (top shelf)
Rebel Yell (for everyday mixing)
Vodka: Tito's (handmade in Texas, yes, Texas)
Tequila: I agree w/ Bo...Patron & Cazadores
Rum: Whaler's Dark
Beer: Anchor Steam Liberty Ale
Favorite cocktail du jour: Diamond Fizz
Fill your cocktail shaker and a large tumbler 1/2 way with ice. Add 2 - 3 oz. of Gin, juice of a whole lemon and a smattering of powdered sugar to the shaker. Shake. Pour over ice in tumbler. Fill tumbler to top with champagne. Sip and thank me later.

78. RE #72: April, if you actually like whiskey, why are you drinking that Canadian carburetor cleaning fluid?!! Try a good Straight Kentucky Bourbon instead. I suggest Wild Turkey 80 Proof (smoother than the 101).

80. The finest Vodka I have ever tasted is one distilled in Traverse City Michigan called Grand Traverse True North Vodka. It makes Grey Goose taste Like rot gut and Grey Goose use to be my favorite. $2.00 per bottle more expensive than Grey Goose.
