I attended a posh party last weekend where they were only serving top-shelf liquor. When I asked for a margarita, the bartender's response was. "Would you like Cabo Wabo or Patron Silver tequila?" Not being much of a liquor connoisseur, I opted for Cabo Wabo. I usually drink my margaritas with Jose Cuervo tequila, mojitos with Bacardi rum and white russians with Absolut Vodka. So as you can see, I'm not that familiar with top-shelf liquors. Maybe it's because I enjoy cocktails more than straight up liquor chilled or on the rocks.
I decided to find out which liquor brands are popular among our AOL Search users. As you can see from the list below, the most searched are also the most common types of whiskey, rum, vodka and bourbon.
Did your favorite brand of liquor show up on our list? If not, please tell us about it or try searching for liquor brands on AOL Search.

82. Give Mako Vodka a try. Great tasting vodka straight, rocks or with your favorite mixer. Portion of the proceeds goes back to helping the environment. Premium Vodka without the premium price. Pick up a bottle at your local liquor store and if they do not have it ask them to get it in.

84. If you like Belvedere Vodka -- you'll love "Sobieski" Vodka. It's Poland's #1 Premium Vodka and it just arrived in the U.S. in September of last year. It's distilled four-times, made from 100% Rye and it's available at an affordable price (under $20 for a 1.75 Liter bottle). You can't beat that!!

88. Having stayed too many years at the endless cocktail soiree, I am now relegated -for health reasons- to white wines of which California Chardonnays are my preference (a case of Benziger '05 Sonoma County Chardonnay a recent wonderful acquisition). But when the siren call of stronger spirits gets me going, there is not much to match The Macallan 12yr, splendid; 18, without peer. Neat; Pellagrino w/ice side. My preference in Tequila (unless we're in Playa del Carmen when I leave it to whomever's running the bar at LaTortuga) is Sauza/Los Hornitos -good bang for the buck for a decent Margarita. 100% azul agave, tambien. Gray Goose for a decent -very dry' icy cold- Gibson. Of course a real Martini is a gin-based libation; a B&B (Beefeater&Boissiere vermouth); five to one, olives. Shaking goes without saying. If my mind wanders to the old neighborhood, give me a decent shot of Old Overholt (100% rye whiskey) with an icy American tap to chase. Heaven. I could go on forever, but of course I cannot. J. 89. If you must drink vodka, I agree that Grey Goose or Belvidere are the best. However, either of them would fall in line behind any good single malt scotch or single malt Irish whiskey. Mixed drinks are for those who really do not like or can not afford good alcoholic beverages.

90. For those of you who like Gray Goose Vodka, Costco's Kirkland brand vodka is Gray Goose. Its about 2/3 the price. Only problem is that the bottle is so big it dosnt fit in most freezers.

94. If you're a vodka drinker, Stoli and Pomegranet is an excellent combo.
I agree with the fellow who says Jack Daniels should be listed. It is smooth and tasty whiskey, straight up, but with water if you must.

97. I think your not seeing alot of your favorites on the list because there more expensive, I believe 8 out 10 people are buying the less expensive liqours, what I can't believe is not one type of scotch is listed being single malt or blended, I tried a nice vodka over the weekend, distilled 7 times, called RAIN straight up from the freezer. had a nice taste, smooth but not to smooth,,,had a Vodka martini awhile back with K-1 vodka thought I was drinking water with an olive.
