Memorial Day weekend is a fun time for relaxing by the pool, grilling out with your friends and of course shopping. There are lots of sales going on at your local department stores. This is a great time to get discounts for yourself and also for others. Do you need to purchase any wedding gifts, baby showers gifts or birthday gifts? This is the perfect weekend to whittle down your "to buy" list, while saving some money. And don't forget -- Father's Day is June 15th.
I decided to find out which department stores are popular among our users. The results varied from discount department stores such as Wal-Mart, Target and Kmart to upscale department stores such as Neiman Marcus and Saks
Also while you're out having fun this weekend, please take a moment to reflect on the real reason we have this holiday: the men and women who have given their lives for our freedom.
Did your favorite department store show up on our list? If not, please tell us about it or try searching for department stores on AOL Search. Don't forget you can always shop online at AOL Shopping.

1. I LOVE Target. You can find so much there. The kids clothing is cheap and they have tons of funky housewares that look much more expensive then they are.
I shop online at Target.com through an online shopping mall and I have been saving between 5-55% on my purchases at over 1100 stores online including Bare
Necessities, Sephora, Apple, The Gap, Target (great for soo much),
Macy's. I also wait for sales so I get my cash back and the lowest
price

10. Costco, is a unique store, you just never know what they will have from around the World, with their one time buys. Always price right. Never worry about the price 6figuresandmore.com see for yourself. They have clean, well merchandised, wide ailse stores and operate on a very low profit margin, because of the volume they do and pass off their savings to us, the consumers.

11. My fave places to shop are Target and TJ Maxx. And for a dollar store I really love Dollar Tree. They have great lotions and shower gels.

12. Whomever conducted this survey neglected to mention the unconventional stores/way of shopping. I like Wal Mart, Kohl's,Macy's, and JC Penney, but what about QVC and HSN? These companies are making money hand over fists and millions of people shop via this way. You should check out all of the celebreties selling through them too; just one of many, "The Donald", yes Mr. Trump. Stop wearing out your tires and spending your gas, and when you just don't feel like the hassle of the mall, check out this method of shopping; just remember; self-control is key!

13. I'm old enough to realize name brands don't necessarily mean durable or even high quality.I go to Kmart to remind myself why I shop at Walmart most of the time. Kohls has to be at the 80% or 90% off before I shop there, only occasionally do I shop at JCPenney and even then it is only on their clearance racks. I also like to hit the Thrift Stores, like Goodwill and Salvation Army. You can find great stuff there and actually help those organizations help others at the same time.

14. scratch KMart. Not in Texas anymore. Sears is headed in the same direction. Like Wal Mart a lot and the folks there are friendly but they don't do customer service.

15. I love MACY'S!! i live in So. California and I always find comfort in knowing that there is a macy's store just around every corner. They have great sales practically every week and they always have tons of clearance! May not be that high end but they have beautiful, easy to shop stores and very friendly associates. I love MACY'S!

16. With the price of gas sky high, shopping online is by far the less stressful way to go! I really like shopping online at http://www.limageplus.com and not to mention the masses trying to get an item on sale at a big box store with-out the dreaded coupon from a flyer or newspaper. Wayyy to much stress...I can just sit at my computer, save gas and my sanity! LOL!
