For a few years now I have been thinking about getting my teeth whitened. What usually prevents me from following through is that my teeth are very sensitive and the cost for this type of cosmetic dentistry is quite expensive.Professional teeth bleaching treatments usually start around $500 and are not covered by dental insurance. I know there are other teeth whitening products out there that are cheaper, but I wonder if they really work.
After doing some research it seems that Celebrity Sexy Teeth, BriteSmile and GO SMILE have received the best reviews for teeth whiteners. Celebrity Sexy Teeth was highly ranked by consumers for the following reasons: it's easy to use, very effective and does not cause tooth sensitivity. As far as cost, a 30-day supply will run you around $50, which is a lot cheaper than cosmetic dentistry.

2. Now here is a product that most of us know little about. Should you use over the counter stuff versus going to a dentist. http://www.choicearizona.com

3. I had the Zoom whitening process done over a year ago. The effect lasted for about a month, but eventually, I had to look for another product. With the Zoom process, my dentist made me some personalized bleaching trays. I've been ordering Day White ACP 9.5% (by Discus Dental) from Amazon.com to use in my trays. I use it at least 2-3x a week and it only costs about $20/month. My dentist sells it too, but for a lot more money.

4. I am a single mom of 3 and am always looking to save money. I make my own teeth whitener by making a tooth powder that I use on my teeth once a week. I like coffee and red wine so my teeth do get stained. I make the powder buy combining 3 teaspoons of baking soda with one teaspoon of salt. I then brush it on my teeth and it removes all stains, stimulates my gums. I do this once a week.
I am always looking for ways to save money, but am vain so I love to stay fit and look young. I drink tons of water wear sunblock (the cvs brand is great) and wear smartsole anti-cellulite insoles that cause you to burn more calories with every step. I bought at http://www.smartsole.com and used the coupon code that I read about on the Oprah site (great for tips!) SMART15 and got 15% off.

6. I was at the mall the other day, doing some speed shopping for a last minute, but important, event. There was a booth set up called "Spark-E-Ling," doing teeth whitening for $99. It was the kind of thing I've seen at my dentist, including the special light, and of course I was skeptical, but intrigued. I watched the people getting it done, before and after, and I was impressed with what I saw. I spoke to the dental hygenist who was doing it and it sounded good. Next day, I had it done -- 45 minutes later, white teeth, to the degree I wanted. This was a week ago, they look and feel great, and I hope it lasts a while. It's supposed to last 12-18 months, but for $99 [inc. tax], I think it was worth it! [I think it's also backed or sponsored somehow by "Arm & Hammer"]

8. I am going to the dentist next month to have the ZOOOOOM treatment done. I sure hope it helps.
I got ripped off on this Celebrity Sexy Teeth or whatever it is called! My fiance and I bought it (sort of expensive) and used it faithfully for a month and could see NO improvement . . . his teeth are whiter than mine . . . but, no improvement for either of us. We might as well have used PEANUT BUTTER! Deceptive and ineffective! Steer clear.

9. "TOP SEARCHED" DOES NOT equate to best product. LOOK AT THE REVIEWS FIRST before you jump to conclusions!!!

10. Hey Prawn, I want to hear more about the process that worked at the mall for $99. Does anyone know what it is called? I would love to do that.
Bella, I have smartsoles also and they are great. They are like the MBT trainers but are much cheaper (about $30) I just got another pair and used the code SMART15 and it worked..thanks

11. I am a dentist and over the counter like "crest white strips" are the best products if you can be patient. They have less chance of making your teeth sensitive because of the lower % of hydrogen peroxide but therefore take longer. Zoom is a dedication process. Its like drying out a bone, it turns white, but when hydrated it will turn back to its natural color. Baking soda is extremely abrasive to the teeth and should be avoided. Teenagers should avoid bleaching their teeth because the nerve chamber is still large and can become sensitive!

12. I wanted my teeth also to be as white as they could be drinking coffee is so bad for them. I read using baking using a teaspoon of baking soda on your toothbrush and 1-2 drops of peroxide. It works too. I started out doing it everyday for 3-4 days to get them white and now do it maybe once or twice a week to keep them white.

13. Celbertiy Teeth Whitening is a RIP OFF! DO NOT PURCHASE! The ingredients are stuff you have at home! And yes, why does AOL place ads like this that look like news?

14. I've read numerous comments about the Celebrity Sexy Teeth...mostly not good. I read things like: 1-you don't receive your order, and 2-It doesn't work; even for someone who doesn't smoke or drink coffee. When I went to their website, and was concerned when I found out that there wasn't a number to call...that worries me.

15. i bought the celebrity teeth for about $80. WHAT a rip off. Just because it is advertised here as Number 1. It was 3 little tubes that was NO better than any other product i tried. In fact i think the Crest brush on product is better. Both my daughter and I tried this Celebrity Teeth. Save your money,
don't bother.

16. i had the BRITE SMILE done about 4 years ago in a dentist office. It was amazing, i went 4 shades lighter. but it was expensive (i think $600.)
my sons had Zoom and Brite smile done for about $500.
it worked pretty well for them.. I think you have to pay the money and start out with Brite Smile and Zoom and then stay on top of your teeth with crest white strips, a couple times a year.

17. I'm a Dental Hygienist and would like to add my professional opinion. "OTC" teeth whiteners can be effective. Its not so much the product as it is the level of stain to be removed. There is intrinsic stain (inside the enamel) and extrinsic (outside enamel). There is also DNA and the way individual cells develop enamel. Result can vary from great to no change at all. What I like to tell my patients interest in whitening is try an OTC product first, the results can be exacting what your looking for and the price tag is much lower. If you need professional whitening due to the type of staining you have - seek professional assistance.

20. I was at the mall shopping and came across the booth that was doing teeth whitening. My mom and I both had it done. We received a 20% discount since both of had it done. My teeth look great! Supposed to last for at least a year. My teeth are now 6 shades whiter. You can go from 2-6 shades from your current teeth shade. My mom went 3 shades.
