Have you ever had a health problem that you were too embarrassed to talk about? You are not alone. It is hard to bring up serious health concerns, especially the ones that make you blush just thinking about them. Some things are meant to be kept private, but that doesn't mean you can ignore your health issues. We are bringing these types of problems out in the open with our list of the top searched embarrassing health concerns.Though it can be intimidating to bring up your secret health problems to a relative stranger, your doctor should be the first person you turn to when facing an illness, no matter how embarrassed you are. Remember: they see tons of patients and probably have seen your same problem many times before. No matter how ashamed you are, it is important for the health of you and others to get symptoms of contagious illnesses, such as herpes symptoms, examined before it is spread to others. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, one out of five adults have been infected with genital herpes and there is no known herpes cure. It's not surprising then that it is number one on our list.
If you are still too embarrassed to see a doctor, look into over the counter medications. Some conditions can be treated with OTC medicine, but that doesn't always cure the problem and you might still have to see your doctor. Yeast Infections, number three on our list, has many different OTC treatments and cures.
You can treat other problems, such as hyperhidrosis, which is just a fancy word for excessive sweating, with more unconventional methods. If you have tried extra-strength antiperspirants, such as Drysol, and you are still having a problem, you may benefit from plastic surgery. Injections of Botox are used to disable the sweat glands in areas like your underarms.
Not all of the problems on the list are easily treated. If you are avoiding serious surgery for things such as incontinence, lifestyle changes may help make a difference. Try looking into adult incontinence supplies, such as adult diapers.

Thanks for the code, I eat fitflax too after I heard Dr Oz speak about it. I ate it purely for weight loss, but found that flax makes my hair thicker and my skin better which makes sense as you are adding a good fat filled wih Omega 3's and 6's to your diet.
My other health problem is insomnia and I have to learn how to relax more after 5 pm so I can sleep better in the evening.

The best least spoken health advice is to STOP using sunscreen if you plan on being in the sun for short periods of time. Americans have an 85% chance of being Vitamin D deficient. The minimun RDA is woefully low.

Individuals should not resign themselves to incontinence supplies. This condition has been successfully treated by physical therapy with a focus on the pelvic floor muscles through exercise and biofeedback. Find a therapist in your area that has been trained in this type of treatment. This is a growing problem in the United States. Learn more about it.

I have Polymyalgia Rheumatica or PMR for short. Very few have ever heard of it. I am looking for someone who can advise how to deal with it. The steroids I am on are playing havoc with my diabetes.

I first contracted genital herpes in 1982 when it was relatively unknown. I had 8-10 outbreaks/year. I have been keenly aware of this disease for 27+ years, changing my eating and lifestyle habits to combat this. Although there is no cure, I highly recommend
Red Marine Algae (take for 1 month). My outbreaks now are 1 maybe 2 for a whole year.

Migraine sufferers--Look up 5-htp as an alternative treatment. I use it for insomnia/depression, and it works wonders.
By NetMahoubin on Jan 5th 2009 at 12:14AM
For migraines, try 5-htp. Look it up and do your own research before actually trying it.

I have this problem that my brother's also have, it's pretty embarrassing for us, there is severe itching in our ears, fluid drainage, and flaking skin/scabbing. It lasts all day every day, it flares up when we are stressed, but never really clears up. Mine has become so bad the scaling/scabbing skin is outside of my ear and one of my brother's is more severe than that, it looks like sores coming out of our ears. It's terrible to think about people seeing and itching and painful. We have seen doctors, allergists, ENT specialists and dermatologists. They say there's really nothing to do, don't scratch, it's some VERY rare almost unknown condition we will always have to deal with, the funny thing is we all have developed this problem in the last 10 years! It's got a name that's long and I can't think of but is similar to dandruff for lack of a better description. I wish I could find a cure or a reason so we could get over this.

Wow, there are a lot of products being advertised in the "comments" section. I thought people were to discuss things here and exchange thoughts and not peddle doubtful articles.

I have a type of so-called migraines called bilateral trigeminal neuralgia. We call them "zaps" because that's what it feels like from temple to temple-but drs. insist it is a type of migraine. I take Topomax and it reduced mine from totally debilitating to 99% pain free. Ask your dr. though. It has some side effects.
