With the swimsuit season almost here, many of my friends are talking about one thing: losing weight. As we started talking about all the different diet plans out there, one friend asked, "Why diet, when you can just pop a diet pill?" Is it really that easy? Being completely naive about diet pills and diet supplements, I decided to pull a list of the top searched diet pills to find out what all the hype was about. I can see why Alli made it to the top of the list. According to their customer testimonials, this pill, along with diet and exercise, can increase weight loss up to 50 percent. However, Alli is known to have some nasty side effects as well. According to their website, you will pass something "that looks like the oil on top of a pizza" out your body. Are the benefits worth the costs? Find out more at AOL Body.
Did you know phentermine received FDA approval back in 1959? It's still the top searched diet pill today. It's strange to think people have been using phentermine for so long.
I have to say, I'm a little skeptical of all these miracle pills and I wonder if they really lead to healthy weight loss. There are so many diet pills that out there that I question how safe they really are. Some of these diet pills I have actually heard of like Hoodia and Hydroxycut. But what exactly are Meridia and Lipovox? Lipovox, number 9, is made of extracts from superfoods like flaxseed, barley, green tea, acai and more. The antioxidants from these superfoods are great for your body.
Dieting is hard! Quick diets don't help you lose weight long term and exercise regimens are hard to stick to. Maybe diet pills really are the best way how to lose weight effectively.
Yes, popping a diet pill does sound much easier than counting your calories or exercising, but do they really work? Have you tried any of these diet pills? And if so, what worked for you? Try searching for diet pills on AOL Search. Or, if diet pills aren't your thing, you can check out AOL Body for weight loss tips.

loosing weight was my new years resolution 2 years ago, my friend was using Phentermine pills. i was afraid to take them. but when i saw that she lost around 80 pounds, i started taking them on oct 2006 the first two weeks i lost 7 pound and after two more weeks i lost another 7 pounds. that's when loose the most pounds, after that i only lost 2 or 3 pound every two weeks. for a grand total of 35 pounds. i stop taking the pills around april 2007. at that time i was 112 pounds, i gain a little wait with the time so i had to go back on dec 2008. i'm 124 now. my point is that i will recomend those pills but you have to due with a doctor so they can keep an eye on you. they due have side effects and i think not everybody can handle those pills. just keep in mind when you want something you can always do it with or with out pills, don't do it for anybody else but your self.

I love fitflax too. I have it in oatmeal every morning and it is filling. I am also a fan of the new Splenda with fiber. Each packet has 0 calories and 1 gram of fiber. I have 2 packets of Splenda with fiber, fitflax and 1/2 cup of Quakers instant oatmeal (I also add a little cinnamon) in the morning and I am having a boatload of filling fiber and it is yummy.
My old breakfast was a bran muffin which I deluded myself was healthy when it all honesty I knew it was truly a piece of cake shapped in muffin format.

I am a big fan of anything that can help a person keep their weight under control. I was always skeptical of diet pills, though; it was almost like you were cheating! Then I had a friend who was obese take phentermine under her doctors supervision. She went from a size 22 to about an 8 now. This happened over the course of about 2 years. I have tried it now, and it does absolutely work. BUT, as with any weight lose program, you definitely should talk to your doctor first. This is a prescription med, which insurance does not cover, and shouldn't be mixed with certain meds. While on the med, you need to adopt a healthy routine because you WILL gain the weight back if you don't.

About 5 years ago a friend and neighbor of mine was trying to lose a few holiday pounds. She was taking an over the counter diet pill advertised on radio and TV. She had been exercising. Ran herself a bath. She had a seizure and fell into the tub, causing her to drown to death. She had a seizure when she was a child, but had not had one for over twenty years. No one knows what caused the seizure. But any should consult a doctor, and use caution when trying to loose weight.

This diet is amazing, because it programs your body to begin losing instead of gaining, or storing all that weight.

This is ridiculous. You don't need diet pills or shakes to lose weight. I know what it's like to try and lose weight. I lost 47 pounds in 6 weeks using the Rapidthin diet at www.rapidthin.com. Good luck to all. Use what works for you.

I have been overweight since I was 15, I am now 39 and still overweight. I have tried every diet under the sun without success. I am writing to warn others of the effects of phentermine. While it works for weight loss great (I lost 80 pounds) it is also a drug that should only be taken while under a doctors close watch. Even though I was under a doctors careful eye while using the phentermine I suffered a heart attack 3 years ago. 36 years old, married, two children and my whole life ahead of me! Heart cath revealed crystal clear arteries, no reason for a heart attack could be found other than the use of diet meds. While this cannot be proven as the exact cause I feel in my heart it was. I will never use diet pills again and strongly warn against their use unless followed closely by a physician. I am on my own from here out, just trying less food, more exercise! It works!

Heidi and the writers of these comments should look at www.michaelanchors.com or www.phenpro.com to get truthful info regarding phentermine. Singed: Dr. Anchors, bariatrician fifteen years, author of two books, on radio and TV, selling you nothing but presenting accurate information with sources. Someone needs to.

I agree. Make the commitment to being healthy. It is all about the calories and eating stuff that makes sense. I agree with the posters about eating less, eating real food and not going for the diet pill quick fix. Weight Watchers worked fo me years ago is it helped me with portion size. I also like flax, kashi go lean and foods with fiber and taste. Pepper, hot sauce, seasonings all add taste without calories and fat

I'm 65 now and have been on weight loss pills since I was 12. Yes I'm hooked. Tried all kind, legal and not legal over the years. Now taking 30 mg. Phentermine in the early morning and 15 mg at noon. Too much? Yes I know but I can not get through a day without them. I am a male, once weighing in at 475 but now 265. My advice. NEVER start on weight loss pills. The are very addictive and will become a crutch in your life. Expensive? Yes unless you can get a regular doctor to write you a legit prescription you can fill at Wal Mart. 30 pills = $27.95. Internet price....$75 to $95. They definitely have an effect on your moods, sex life, and sleep. DON'T DO IT. ~Wayne

I have always being a size 6, until my 36 birthday. I went to my regular doctor and I was 142 pounds! I am only 5 "1. I went to a weight loss clinic and was prescribed Wellbutrin 75mg and phentermine 37.5mg. I loss the weight, but I had side effects, not sleeping, dry mouth and just feeling uneasy. I now exercise 3-4 times a week to keep the weight off. Please see a doctor before starting any new diet!!!!! Yes, Phentermine works, but there are side effects.

The Acai Berry is a natural ingredient. It still takes a life change in eating and exercising daily for them to work but the acai berry has many other medical attributes as well. It helped my cholesterol and triglycerides come down and they were through the roof!

I have lost 64 lbs this year using a lozenge that my Doctor created. I work for him as well and many of our patients have lost weight as much as 25 lbs or more. The lozenges are amino acids without any stimulants, safe for diabetics and cardiac patients as well, in fact safe for all. I have kept the weight off through the holidays. The lozenges decrease your hunger. I eat regular food, but I just do not get that craving hunger that plagued me for the past 20 yrs. I tried Weight Watchers, South Beach, Atkins, Cabbage soup diet, you name it and I think I have tried it. While I lost weight, I was always hungry, got tired and it just fell by the wayside and I gained more weight back than I had lost. Everyone who has taken the lozenges correctly have reported less hunger with weight loss. This has been a true miracle for me. I was 208 lbs on the 8th of March 2008 and today, I am 144 lbs.

I have only tried to date the slim fast diet, which I lost 10lbs in two weeks, however it is something like any other diet supplement you have to be on most of your life to maintain the weight you want.
I am now 57 years old, and have learned that simply
cut back on how much you eat, how often, and I lost
a considerable amount of weight, it took me a year and a half to get down to 125. I was like 150 lbs.
Doesnt sound like a lot, but to someone who's family is obese, it is a great amount. I am going to try the acai, just out of curiosity, but again it would be something you would have to continue, even after losing the weight you desire. I also have to watch my weight because of medical problems. I hope that anyone that tries any type of diet, remembers, it takes will power, less intake, and excercise to lose it safely. If you dont know about something ASK FIRST, some things can interfere with your normal everyday prescriptions.

I am 62 years old have always had a weght issue. I have tried every and I say every diet pill out there.
From black beauties to Alli and so forth. With all the jitters and side effects but for a few months I looked good. Then in Sept. I joined Weight watchers again with a co-worker and friend. Since Sept. I have lost 15lbs and she 25. It teaches you the right way to eat choices are very important. Plus doing it with a friend really helps. So please everyone stay away from pills unfortunatley there is no quick weight loss. I pray this time for me at Weight Watchers will be my last learning lesson,
