So much happened this weekend with so little time to discuss it all. Here is a recap of this weekend's hottest stories. This weekend, Hollywood bid farewell to a veteran theater, film and television actor. Pat Hingle, best known for his role as Commissioner James Gordon in the first four 'Batman' movies, died Saturday at the age of 84.
Hollywood couple John Travolta and Kelly Preston suffered the loss of their son Jett this weekend. The 16-year-old's body was discovered Friday morning in his room at the Old Bahama Bay resort in the Bahamas. Reports say the teenager, who suffered from Kawasaki disease, struck his head on the bathtub after suffering a seizure.
Sam Shepard is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, a playwright, a movie star and now a criminal (allegedly). This weekend's biggest trouble maker was busted in Illinois on charges of speeding and drunken driving, with a blood-alcohol level that was double the legal limit.
In the world of politics, President-elect Barack Obama arrived in Washington, DC last night with his family. While his daughters begin their first day at a new school, Obama is working on an economic stimulus package that aims to create 3 million new jobs. The president-elect will also have to fill an unexpected opening in his cabinet after New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson declined his nomination for commerce secretary due to the pressure of a federal 'pay-to-play' investigation.
You can't talk about the weekend without mentioning the football games. After the latest football scores of wild card weekend, the Eagles, Chargers, Ravens and Cardinals will advance to the next round of the playoffs. Which of these wild-card winners do you think has the best chance of making it to the Super Bowl? To see who your favorite team is playing, check out the playoff schedule.

I see the Weight Watchers diet plan on that list but Weight Watchers has been around for decades and I don't know of anyone that it has worked for, do you? This is the story of the weight problem I faced and how I beat it.
This is the time of the year when most people promise themselves to lose weight. Most of us are at our heaviest after stuffing ourselves with all the great traditional holiday goodies. Last year I made the same New Year's resolution as I had in the past, that I would go on a diet and lose weight. I needed to lose about 30 pounds but found it easier to say that I needed to lose weight than to actually do it. I started out by trying to just eat as little as possible but that didn't work more than a couple of days and I started pigging out by the end of the third day. I tried speed walking for a couple of hours a day but with the usual January snowstorms that was hard to do. I was thinking that it was going to be like every other year with my own broken promise to myself about losing weight. Then I ran into a friend of mine who obviously had lost a bunch of weight and had in fact never looked better. I asked her how she did it and when she told me she did it with the help of an diet pill I was very skeptical. I told her that I didn't think any of them worked. She told me that she felt the same way and only tried it because she found an offer with a free trial on the Internet. She sent me that link in an email http://theworldsgreatestsupplement.com and I tried it for myself and to my amazement it actually worked. I was losing 2 – 3 pounds a week. I lost my 30 pounds in a little over 3 months and I have managed to keep the weight off ever since. The great thing was that I didn't just lose that weight but I felt better throughout the day and I still do.

I can understand Weight Watchers being a hot search. It is such a great program.
I was a Junior Miss Hawaii 30 years ago and then discovered how delicious Ben and Jerry's and Junior's cheesecake was and went from a curvy 4 to a little too healthy 18. I so relate to Oprah a lot of other bigger women that who I think are beautiful inside and out and relate to her battle of the bulge.
I am a mother of 3 young girls, I want them to embrace their curves and be healthy.
I strive to eat healthy and lead by example. I eat flax every morning. I have the same breakfast now every day. I recently lost 30 pounds following the weight watchers program
http://www.weightwatchers.com and I now just am more watchful every day of what I eat. I have a
banana low fat yogurt with golden roasted flax for breakfast every day. It is filling, keeps me regular and tastes fabulous. My Weight Watchers leader recommended fitflax to me and it definitely helped the last 10 pounds to melt off. It is a flax and chia blend and I found a code to get 10% off. The site is http://www.fitflax.com and the code for 10% off is ff10

What about everyday people's deaths and DUI's? Their lives and souls are just as important as celebrities. Why don't you report about them?

Weight Watchers does work. I've taken off the same 40-50 pounds, over and over, again and again, with Weight Watchers. (In case you missed my sarcasm, LOSING weight is easy. KEEPING IT OFF is the trick!)

I was wondering if the first 4 Batman movies included the one from the 1960s with Adam West or older ones. It's actually the 4 starting in 1989.

Weight Watchers is the best...Losing weight though hard, maintaining the motivation to keep it off is just as hard.
My new favorite go to foods are: oreo 100 calorie packs, the new splenda pack with 1 gram of fiber and fitflax (great in oatmeal)

Weight Watchers works only as a profit center for which ever compnay keeps perpetrating the scam that is Weight Watchers. It certainly doesn't help many people lose weight and keep it off. If all the heavily advertised weight loss products worked we would have half the country overweight. Weight Watchers has nice looking packaging and nice ads, as well as the liar above said she was Junior Miss Hawaii 30 years ago but is the mother of 3 young children now. Do the math.

Those of you who cannot keep the weight off should try "The Perricone Weight-Loss Duet, A Simple 3-Part Plan to Lose the Fat, the Wrinkles, and the Years." I have been trying diets for many years and this is by far the best because it gets to the very heart of the problem like nothing else does. Dr. Perricone shows us how to deal effectively with our weight problem for the rest of our lives and become superbly healthy and youthful looking at the same time. It doesn't get any better than that.
Sad to hear about the great Pat Hingle. So many of those wonderful actors of the past are leaving us now, hopefully for Heaven rather than Hades (Luke 9:23).

I don't know how anyone can join weightwatchers and not lose weight....If they follow the program...I joined a year and a half ago and as of today I'm down 112 pounds...I am learning to eat again as I never did in my 53 years on this earth... and not being hungry but eating healthy and the weight is coming off steadily...FYI Good Luck all!!

I know of a lot of people that had great success with Weight Watchers. You'd only say the contrary if you wnat to sell your own product.

That's sad news about Pat Hingle. I'll remember him best for his role as Colonel Daniel Webster Tucker on M*A*S*H. He and Col Potter (Harry Morgan) played the ultimate April Fools' joke on Hawkeye. It is probably my favorite episode.

Adam West isn't Batman. He's the mayor of Quahog!

I was Junior Miss Hawaii when I was 18 and now at 48 I have 3 kids under 5. I did fertility and am not embarrased about it. It did contribute to my weight gain however. I did not lose the weight solely to weight watchers. I lost it to making smart decisions and just deciding I no longer wanted to be heavy. I really think eating FitFlax and drinking lots of water with a squeeze of lemon and splenda helped the most.

Let's hope the deserving teams win this weekend. They are Pittsburgh, Tennessee, New York, and Carolina.
Let's hope the Ravens with Ray Lewis who got away with murder don't keep getting lucky.
