Get the Best Back to School Gadgets!

It's that time of year again (cue the kids groaning). School is about to start back up and chances are your kids aren't too happy about leaving the carefree ways of summer behind. Math homework certainly isn't going to make them excited about returning to the classroom, but having some fun, new gadgets will. To help get your kids motivated, check out our list of the top searched back to school gadgets.

Topping the most searched list is the iPhone. Your kids think of it as one of the coolest new phones, but you know that its many applications also make it a great learning tool and organizational device. Aside from it also being a MP3 player, this Smartphone has Internet access for a fast and easy way to look up information and a calendar for organizing after-school activities, homework and exam dates. T-Mobile users can check out Sidekick phones, number 3 on our list.

Laptop computers are a must for any student because they can use it at home and take it to class with them. For an easy-to-tote computer, try out the MSI Wind Notebook. It was just released this year and is truly a handheld computer (it is 10" long and weighs only 2.3 lbs).

For the music lovers out there, you've got to look into getting a Skullcandy Audio Pack. This backpack has built-in audio speakers and controllers right on the shoulder strap. They can plug in their iPod or any of the other MP3 players that appeared on our list.

Having the best back to school gadgets won't mean a thing if your kids can't get to school on time. Clocky, number 5 on the list, is a late snoozer's worst nightmare. This alarm rolls off the table and hides after you hit snooze, so you have no choice but to get out of bed and shut it off.

What new gadgets are you getting for back to school? Let us know! For more gadgets, search back to school gadgets on AOL Search or browse AOL Shopping. Hungry For Some Delicious Dining?

I love going out to dinner with my friends and family, but I hate going to stuffy restaurants with boring menus. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy trying out local eateries with unique and specialty menu items. But there is also something to be said about the consistency and flair of commercial restaurant chains.

When it comes to pleasing the different tastes of a group of people, chain restaurants are the way to go. Each has its own style and flavor so you know what to predict about the atmosphere, food and service before you even go in for a meal. This type of steadiness piques my taste buds and keeps me coming back for certain dishes.

I decided to check out which chain restaurants AOL Search users were searching for. I was excited to see some of my favorites on the top searched list. Olive Garden came in at number one and is a definite favorite of mine for their pasta dishes. Best of all, they are the only restaurant I know that offers unlimited soup, salad and bread sticks. It's hard to save room for dessert.

Next on the list, Applebee's, is the best restaurant for dieters following Weight Watchers. They have a special light cooking menu with Weight Watchers points for each dish. On our list after Applebee's, Red Lobster is one of the best chain seafood restaurants and a great place to find crab cakes.

Ruby Tuesday is a bit further down our top searched list, but is still one of my favorites. It is one of the more cheap restaurants on the list and has unlimited access to the salad bar for only a few dollars. In fact, it is the only restaurant on the list with a salad bar, which has all sorts of salad toppings as well as delicious pasta salads and potato salads.

My other personal favorite came in last place, but at least it made it on the list. Texas Roadhouse is the best of the chain steak houses because they let you pick out your own piece of meat when you order. That way, you know exactly what you are getting. I go for their grilled chicken sandwich and warm rolls with cinnamon butter. YUM!

Cougars On The Loose!

A cougar (classification: loverov yungermen) is the latest breed of wild animal. No, I'm not talking about the puma-like cats. I am talking about untamed creatures who live in urban and rural habitats and prey on younger cubs.

Who are these magnificent creatures? Cougars are a new breed of mature women who relish dating younger men. But don't be confused; the term is not a stigma and by no stretch of the imagination means that these ladies are past their prime. Quite the contrary, cougars keep themselves in excellent shape for the hunt with intense exercise, healthy diets, and the occasional plastic surgery.

In an age of high divorce rates, these creatures adapt to their new habitats and choose to confidently explore all possibilities in the dating world. Some attack younger males, but others have been known to lure them in with their confidence, sophistication and, shall we say, experience.

There have been many accounts of cougar attacks, and some were even caught on film. Who can forget the wild cougar attack in the film 'Wedding Crashers'? Cougar, Jane Seymour, corners her unsuspecting prey, Owen Wilson, in a bedroom and then pounces.

Some cougar attacks are even more disturbing than this. Case 1: Newly separated Linda Hogan catches 19-year-old Charlie Hill. Not only is she 48, but they also look alike. Gruesome! Case 2: Sharon Stone lured in a cub nearly half her age using the ruthlessly effective hunting trap of uncrossing her legs to reveal she is not wearing any cougar panties. The poor cub never had a chance.

However, not all cougar attacks end badly. Some of the majestic cougars hunt for love, not just fresh hunky meat. Case 3: Demi Moore hunted down a new mate after she split up with her first catch. Ashton Kutcher and his cougar have now been married since 2005.

Check out our list of which cougars AOL Search users were looking for. Are you a cougar or have you been a victim of a cougar attack? Tell us about it. Search for more cougars on AOL Search.

Looking for a Hot New Hairdo?

I got a really bad hair cut a few months ago and I have been trying to get past it, but I can't. I wanted a really cute layered hair style but ended up walking out looking like I got in a fight with a lawn mower. Needless to say, I haven't had much faith in hair stylists since.

I did everything to try and stimulate hair growth, including taking hair vitamins. A friend of mine even bought me a Fusion Hair Extension Kit, but I couldn't bring myself to attach foreign hair to my head, no matter if it was human hair or clip on hair extensions. After a few months of waiting, I am just about ready to get a new hair cut. The only thing left to decide is what kind of style I want.

I decided to look at some of the hairstyles other AOL Search users are searching for to inspire me. There sure are a lot of different styles on the list. Although faux hawk hairstyle is number one on the list, I don't think it is really for me. A curly hairstyle would be nice, as long as I can use my CHI hair straightener to make it straight once in awhile. I have some good ideas now, I just hope I don't regret letting the hair clippers chop my hair again.

Do you have a hair style that you love? Please share it with us and let us know about great stylists in your area. Look for more hairstyles on AOL Search and search AOL Yellow Pages for a salon near you.

Searching For a New Vacuum?

I helped a friend of mine move into a new apartment yesterday. But before we loaded all the furniture in to his new pad, we had to do some heavy duty cleaning. I was ready to charge the dust bunnies with a vacuum cleaner when he admitted that he didn't even have one. Not even a small hand-held!

I almost dragged him to the store to buy one right then and there, but we had a truck full of IKEA furniture waiting. So, purchasing a vacuum had to wait too. I decided to check out the top searched vacuums on AOL Search to, hopefully, motivate him into finally getting one. In the meantime, I rented one of those combined vacuum cleaner and shampooers to really get the place clean.

Dyson Vacuums came in at the top of our list. I have seen their newest vacuum that rolls on a ball for quick turns, it is so innovative. They are great for people who need some allergy relief because a lot of their models come equipped with HEPA filters, which catch a lot of the things floating around your house that cause allergy symptoms. The Dyson Vacuum DC17 has a life timefilter built in.

There are a lot of different options to look for when searching for a vacuum. Most people want something light-weight with great sucking power. I personally think the best vacuums for this are canister vacuums. That way you don't have to fumble with changing vacuum bags.

Do you have a vacuum that you love? If not, you can try searching for vacuum cleaners on AOL Search or check out the vacuum cleaners on AOL Shopping.

Trying to Lose Weight?

Dieting is hard work. There is no denying that. So I am always skeptical of new diets that come out claiming they will help you lose extreme amounts of weight in a short period of time. Instead, I hold more faith in weight loss programs. These programs train you how to eat better and promote healthy weight loss, instead of just looking for a quick fix. People who follow weight loss programs tend to keep pounds off instead of yo-yo-ing between weights, like those who follow quick diets and use diet pills.

All weight loss programs offer different ways of approaching the same goal: losing weight. So it is important to shop around a bit for a diet program that will work best for you. Take a look at our list of top searched weight loss programs for some programs to try out.

Number one on the list has been around since the 1960s. Weight Watchers allows you to keep eating the foods you like by monitoring them with a points system. Their famous meetings bring fellow dieters together in a support setting. If that isn't your cup of tea, you can also track your diet online.

I had not heard much about the second diet on this list until I started researching it for this article. The Flat Belly Diet specifically aims to trim down your torso fat and promotes consuming monounsaturated fat with meals. You can use their diet cookbook for recipe ideas and track your progress on their diet site.

The next diet on the list, NutriSystem, includes a diet meal plan that allows you to choose from over 120 pre-prepared meals which they deliver straight to your house. Others on the list include the South Beach Diet, which has gotten great diet ratings.

Which weight loss programs helped you lose weight? Leave us a comment and let us know. For more information, search for weight loss programs on AOL Search.

Looking For a Rental Car?

Labor Day Weekend is right around the corner, and I could not be more excited. I am taking a little trip and everything is all planned out except one last detail: the rental car.

Renting a car can be so fun because it is like adopting a driving alter-ego. In every-day life you may not be able to trade in your Kia for a Lexus, but during your vacation you can drive your fantasy car all you want. So while your at it, might as well make it a convertible.

On the other hand, cheap car hire seems to be the more conventional way to rent a car. Car rental companies tend to rent out the more practical models of sedans and coupes than they do the luxury models. It all depends on your needs. If you have a lot of passengers traveling with you, rental SUVs are economical because you don't have to rent multiple cars and you only have to deal with the poor gas mileage for a couple days.

With so many car rental companies out there, I decided to see what other AOL Search users were searching for to guide me in my quest for a rental car. Our top searched list of car rentals includes a lot of companies that each have something different to offer. Number one on our list, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, offers to pick renters up with their rental car. Budget, number 3 on the list, offers Budget truck rentals where you can rent larger vehicles, like trucks and vans, if you need to move or tow something for a day.

One of the easiest ways to rent a car is by visiting a travel site. They offer travel packages that can also include cheap car rentals. You can also check with your auto club for a discount. A lot of clubs have their own rental car agreements, like AAA car rental.

Good or bad: tell us about your car rental experience. You can find more about car rentals on AOL Search.

Need a Treatment For Your Balding?

I was watching a funny movie this weekend where the father dyes his hair to hide the fact that he is going gray and losing his hair. He looked so ridiculous with his jet black hair that their dog kept barking at him because it didn't recognize him. I was laughing pretty hard when it occurred to me: do people really go this far to hide their thinning hair?

It is estimated that over half of all men will experience male pattern baldness by the time they are 50. But it is not only men that experience hair loss, hair loss in women is very common as well, especially in women who are going through menopause. Genes play a big roll in determining baldness, but also some medications cause hair loss.

I started to wonder what measures people take to stop hair loss and regrow hair. Besides wearing a hat to cover up bald spots, I decided to look at what other AOL Search users were searching for to remedy their hair loss.

The top two of our list are two generic brands of medication used as both topical and oral treatments. Finasteride is commonly known as Propecia and Proscar, and Minoxidil is popularly known as Rogaine.

More natural treatments include Saw Palmetto, a natural extract, and Shen Min, a special type of hair vitamin. A lot of people turn to hair transplant surgery, which shows more immediate results because a hair follicle is directly implanted into your skin.

Not all treatments will work for everyone, and there are a lot of scams out there, so beware. Remember that hair in a spray can? What do you use to treat your baldness? Let us know. For more about balding search AOL Search or look for hair loss treatments on AOL Shopping.
