Looking for a Digital Camera?

My digital camera stopped working the other day. Now that I have the opportunity to purchase a new digital camera, I'm not really sure which type of camera I really need or want. There are so many choices in the world of digital cameras.
After doing some research, I discovered there are three basic types of digital cameras: point-and-shoot, compact and DSLR (digital single lens reflex). Those types also coincide, retrospectively, to your level of expertise: amateur photographer, the serious amateur/semi-professional and the professional photographer. I started leaning more toward the point-and-shoot camera, I can just snap away and not have to worry about tweaking any settings.

I decided to find out what our top searched digital cameras are on AOL Search. The Nikon D300, Nikon D60 and Canon EOS 40D are at the top of the list for DSLR cameras. If you, like me, are looking for a point-and-shoot, Canon Powershot SD750, Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W90 and Kodak Easyshare V610 are popular among our users.

Do you know of any good digital cameras that did not show up on our list? If so, please tell us about them. Looking to purchase a digital camera? Check out AOL Shopping or try searching for digital cameras on AOL Search.

If you want more in-depth information on digital cameras and the technology behind them, visit Engadget and search on digital cameras.

Rudy Huxtable All Grown Up

There's so much gossip and so little time -- here's a quick recap of this weekend's highlights.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! No, this is not Mexican Independence Day (a common misconception in the US). The holiday commemorates an initial victory of Mexican forces over French forces in the Battle of Puebla. It's a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. Check out AOL Latino for more information.

Remember that cute little girl, Rudy Huxtable (Keshia Knight Pulliam) from 'The Cosby Show'? She is all grown up and ready to take on a new role in Tyler Perry's new movie 'Madea Goes to Jail'. Keshia will play an imprisoned prostitute named Candy who is rescued by a fellow inmate Madea. The movie is scheduled to be released sometime in 2009. Check out AOL Movies for additional upcoming films.

Lingerie seemed to be a popular topic for the weekend. Emma Heming, Bruce Willis's (much younger) girlfriend will be modeling for La Senza lingerie, while Kim Kardashian, poses in lingerie for Ralph Magazine.

As for sports, the Pittsburgh Penguins defeat the NY Rangers in overtime and advanced to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time in seven years. Sadly, the Kentucky Derby horse Eight Belles had to be put down after breaking both front ankles, following a second-place finish.

Don't forget Mother's Day is this Sunday, May 11th. Need a gift? Check out AOL Yellow Pages for a local florist, spa or restaurant. Also try searching for Mother's Day gifts on AOL Search.

Well, there you have it. Do you know of any other weekend highlights that didn't show up in our hot searches? If so, please tell us about them.

What Is Your Favorite Luxury Item?

I finally decided it was time to treat myself to some luxury bedding, so I went to the store and purchased high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets, pillowcases and a silk comforter. The expense was well worth it.

Looking for a Foreclosure?

"Foreclosures" may sound like a great word if you are currently looking to purchase a house. I have a girlfriend who just purchased a house for about $100,000 less than other (similar) homes in the neighborhood because it was a foreclosure.

The increase in foreclosures and defaults is largely tied to people with adjustable rate mortgages and subprime loans. The Mortgage Bankers Association reported that high numbers of foreclosures in Florida, Nevada and California are caused by speculators who walk away from their properties since home prices have fallen in those states.

Believe it or not, there are actually foreclosed houses for $50,000. I decided to find out what the top searched U.S, cities for foreclosures are on AOL Search. As you can see Las Vegas is at the top of our list, followed by Atlanta and Houston. If you're in the market for a house, then foreclosures may be a great option for you.

Do you have any foreclosure stories that you would like to share? If so tell us about them. Check out AOL Real Estate and search for foreclosure homes on AOL Search to find listings.

Looking for a Healthy Snack?

With the warm weather upon us, many people are starting to venture outdoors. Whether it's hiking, biking or just having a picnic, packing a healthy snack for your outing can sometimes be a challenge.

I decided to find out what our top searched healthy snacks are on AOL Search. The list of healthy snacks below sounds great, but you still need to be aware of nutrition labels.

For example, popcorn is a great healthy snack if you choose the Orville Redenbacher's original popcorn with only 1.5 grams of fat instead of the ultimate butter popcorn which is loaded with 11grams of fat. Same with Hershey Kisses -- be sure to choose the dark chocolate ones and don't eat too many (each kiss contains about 1.5 grams of fat).

Have kids? Here are some fun ideas for healthy snacks. You can create "ants on a log" by taking a celery stick, filling it with peanut butter and then putting a few raisins on the top of it. "Clown faces" are another easy idea: Take a rice cake, spread some cream cheese on it and use raisins for eyes, a cherry tomato for a nose and some popcorn for a mouth.

Do you know of some healthy snacks that did not show up on our list? If so, please tell us about them. Also try searching for healthy snacks on AOL Search or visit AOL Food for some healthy snack recipes.

Remember These Timeless '80s Bands?

I was driving down the highway the other day when I heard a blast from the past. It was Twisted Sister's 'We're Not Gonna Take It.' Do you remember them?

I loved the '80s! Mohawk haircuts, big hair, fingerless lace gloves, leg warmers, Rubik's Cube, Shrinky Dinks, Smurfs ... the list could go on forever.

I wondered if people were as nostalgic about the '80s as I am. I decided to find out what the most popular '80s big-hair bands were on AOL Search. To my surprise, I found out many people are still curious about the '80s big-hair bands.

KISS , who formed in the '70s, were classically known for their crazy face painting but decided in the '80s to add some Aqua-net. Other bands such as Cinderella, Whitesnake and we can't forget Poison competed with them for the highest teased hair dos.

Speaking of Poison, lead singer Bret Michaels now has his own reality show called 'Rock of Love', where 25 women compete to win a date with him. The hit show just ended season two and fans are wondering ... will there be a season three? Other '80s bands such as Aerosmith and Motley Crue have toned down their hair and are still performing concerts for all their fans. Guns N' Roses is seemingly more famous these days for the album they won't release.

Do you have a favorite '80s big-hair band that did not show up on the list? If so, please tell us about them. Try searching for '80s big-hair bands on AOL Search or check out AOL Music for more 80s Bands. Also check out Spinner.com for band breakups or worst band photos.

Kelly Clarkson Loves to be Naked?

There's so much gossip and so little time -- here's a quick recap of this weekend's highlights.

It seems as though Kelly Clarkson is trying to shake her "good girl" image. Not only has she has changed her hair, her clothing style and her musical style, but she's also decided to go naked. Yes, that's right -- the Grammy-winning singer told US Weekly that she loves to walk around her house in the buff no matter who's around.

Which brings us to Hannah Montana (aka Miley Cyrus) who seems to regret a recent Vanity Fair photo shoot. The Disney star posed for some "artistic" photos but was extremely embarrassed once the story and pictures were published. The images have attracted controversy because of Miley Cyrus' age and the fact that she is regarded as a role model for young girls.

Kenny Chesney hurt his foot at his South Carolina concert while a bomb scare delayed the Bon Jovi concert in Florida. Looking at sports highlights -- the NFL draft has ended, NASCAR had a multi-car crash at Talladega and WWE Raw is live from East Rutherford, N.J. tonight on USA Network.

Well, there you have it. Do you know of any other weekend highlights that didn't show up in our hot searches? If so please tell us about them.

Do You Have a Favorite Reality Star?

I was watching 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' the other night when I heard Kim mention that she had to be popular if she's the number one search on AOL Hot Searches.

Kim, we're happy to report, you are correct. Not only is Kim Kardashian a hot search term in general, she also took the number one spot on our most searched reality stars list.

This made me wonder what other reality stars went from being an 'Average Joe' to a 'Superstar'. So I decided to find out who the other the top searched reality stars were on AOL Search.

Looking at the rest of the list, 'American Idol' stars are pretty prevalent with (current and former) contestants like David Cook, Carly Smithson and David Archuleta. Lauren Conrad, Audrina Partridge and Spencer Pratt from MTVs 'The Hills' were also heavily searched. I wonder why Lauren's rival Heidi Montag didn't make it on our top searched list?

Padma Lakshm is also on our list. You may not recognize her name but Padma is the host of the reality show 'Top Chef,' which airs on Bravo.

Is your favorite reality star on the list? If not, try searching for reality stars on AOL Search or check out In2TV which has old episodes of reality shows online for free.
